Good picture, nice suction cup mount, works well
Installing the main recorder is easy, fast, and simple. I've had several of these in the past. This one was pretty straight forward, nice suction cup mount, no issues installing the new micro sd card & formatting it. I've always wanted the rear camera included with this one, they recommend in the instructions that you get it professionally installed. I'll get that done at the next oil change. Most of the time dash cameras are grainy, more of a which car did what, rather than any real detail. Even with the "HD" or "1080P" label, it's often not good. This one looks awesome! The last dash cam came out of the box setup with Russian as the default language. It was a hassle, happily this was simple.

good dash cam
good product worth the moneyThe dash camera was very neatly packaged. Very slink design with the black matte finish. No over-complicated glossy design, this is what a dash camera should look like. It has a nice 2.2 inch display screen, it's not a touch screen but it's nice to have a big screen to navigate the menus. The instructions are pretty simple, also in multiple languages. The cables included are long enough to run around the car neatly. The included charging cable has a built-in USB charging port, which great if you only have one cigarette lighter receptacle.

Great buy for the price
First, I paid $10 dollars for 2-day delivery and it arrived on time, in two days, total price of under $54 dollars. Package was well boxed with no visible damage to exterior packaging. Camera and parts are sturdy looking. The User manual was included but you will need reading glasses or magnifying glasses to read portions of the manual. The front camera was relatively easy to install. I was able to run the power wire from front windshield under trim to the cigarette lighter for power with little effort. The rear camera is another story. A double-sided adhesive mount and metal mount was included but the manual does not give clear instructions on how to affix the rear camera to the inside of rear window. The rear camera wire (to the main camera) comes with a red wire you can use to connect to backup lights as backup camera with camera mount to the rear of the car. I cut the red wire off and just ran the wire from the rear camera to the front camera. I formatted a 64GB (yes 64GB) Micro SD card and inserted it, set the date and time and drove around. I removed the SD card and inserted it in my PC and found that two folders are present, one for the front and one for the rear camera. Videos were better than expected.

Unreliable!!
I really wanted to like this camera. I spent hours trying to find the best camera. I read the reviews and compared to others and still ended up with a bad camera. I understand that this is a $40 dollar cam but I would still expect it to work. I expected the picture to be grainier than a more expensive cam but based on the reviews I thought it was worth the try. The pic was not too bad. This camera gave me a lot of trouble. It turned on and turned off many times while driving. It recorded random things. It’s not reliable! The installation was easy but what’s the point when the cam shuts off on its own. There is only an email provided to contact Incase you run into issues. Of course, amazon offers their own “Tech support” but they are clueless! tech support will only waste your time by reading the instructions back to you and asking you to turn on and turn off the camera over and over again. Useless. If you want something reliable, I would go for a more expensive dash cam. Maybe around the $100-$150 range. If you do get this or others that are similar just make sure you can return it for a full refund.

I guess I am expecting too much from $40 unit.
The media could not be loaded. This is review for the product only, Dash Cam Car Camera Recorder FHD 1080P Front and Rear Cameras,Driving Loop Recording,2.2 Inch LCD.Installed it on Nissan Quest mini van. Front camera is suction cup mounted somewhat on the windshield center by rear view mirror mount. Rear cam is mounted outside, above license plate, right of the door handle. Mounting it inside, under rear door glass, when putting in reverse turns 4 LEDs on it makes bright reflection. See attached pictures of codecs for both videos, front and back, picture of rear when I had it pointed out more to the street rather then to the back of my car. Also I combined 4 clips, in split stocked front cam on the top and rear on the bottom, 1 minute in day time and 1 minute at night.Pros:Front cam is not bad and is HD with resolution 1920 by 1080 and utilises H.264 codecs. Rear camera also serves as backup camera, when it's properly wired to backup lights, it brings monitor out of standby, and blows rear view cam into full screen with red/yellow/green frame. It has 4 LEDs that lightup when camera is in backup mode. I bought this particular dashcam because of its backup feature. Controlling buttons are on the front and they are decent size and it makes it easy to operate device.Cons:Rear camera.Even though product description sais "Dash Cam Car Camera Recorder FHD 1080P Front and Rear Cameras", it is misleading. In settings selected HD 1920x1080 so one settings for both cams. Front camera resolution is HD, rear camera however is only 640x480. You can see video information on pics taken from VLC codec tool, different codecs are used on fron and back, front outputs .mov files while rear produces .avi's. Rear view image is mirrored when video is played back, as you can see it from snapshots as well, so viewing it brings a lot of confusion.Having low resolution on the back cam is real downer. If I am adjusting it to grub edge of bumper to use it as backup cam - angle is so small, I see only about foot - foot and a half away (30 - 40 centimeters) and I am loosing recording of what is going on on the road while driving, and will record only if somebody hits me and hopefully catches license plate. Adjusting it higher makes backup feature pointless because can't judge distance.Front camera/main unit.Occasionally shuts off while driving, that is being connected in tight power port and having power at all the time while driving. Happened several times while driving, sometimes message pops up warning about shutting down, sometimes it doesn't even come out of screen save mode, just heard shutdown sound and done. Pressing Power/Ok button doesn't help. Had to unplug power adapter and replug it back again to get camera back on. "Locking" video clip is available ONLY from playback screen, so if something happened on the road and you want to make sure that it won't get wiped, you will have to pull over, view that video first and while playing hitting menu and selecting lock file. At night, when it captures somewhat bright lights it developes grainy strips, which dissappear as soon as it gets little darker. When camera starts, it has picture in picture displaying rear view in top right corner. Setting it to something else stays until camera goes off, next power up starts again with default view. Despite having proper date/time stamp, in my case video files show 4 hours off in relation to UTC in their properties modification time. So having files named as VID_031.AVI for the back and VID_031.MOV for the front don't help much in finding needed videoclip when you are using date/time column in computer file browser.I guess I am expecting too much from $40 unit.I would give 4 stars if rear cam would be wide angle with 16:9 and at least 720, rather then 4:3 and 480. And 5 if file locking be accessible while recording.
