High quality doors for CanAm Commander
If you are having any hesitation in buying these doors, don't. They are made with thick steel and I couldn't find a fault. You just have to be mechanically competent to do the installation because it is not for the faint of heart. Printed instructions are not the best but if you follow the YouTube instructions to back up the printed instructions, are mechanically competent, and plan for a few patient days to do the installation, you should be fine. This is one item that I very happy with the purchase. It is SO MUCH better than the factory nets you wonder why Canam doesn't include them as default (I know why, nets are cheaper!) Riding is so much improved. In all of the forums others have commented that these door latches are the best and I have to agree. They are solid and work good. There are a few things that I could knock them on it would be they should label the parts with whether they are driver or passenger parts it would save some time during install. I kept looking at paper and YouTube instructions to be sure I installed correctly. The paper and YouTube instructions didn't address the difference between regular CanAm and XT models when disassembling. Once I figured that out (after doing one side of the machine) the other side was much easier. They should make reference to the XT models and which items need to be pulled for that install.Lastly, they talk about adjusting doors so they fit tightly against the bottom plastic of interior. I didn't have a lot of "adjustment" to make this happen. If you don't make this adjustment, the doors could rattle when riding. I added some 3M rubber bumpers to the bottom plastic where the door hits and this worked perfectly. If Dragonfire would include this simple addition, it would make so much easier. The rubber bumpers I had have the double sided tape on them and just stick to the plastic. It really worked slick. My machine is Gray colored and these black doors kind of stand out. Drogonfire sells some vinyl addons but they don't have any for my machine, 13 XT. At some point I may try to match them up to the color of machine either with paint or vinyl but I can live with it as nice as these doors are.Hope my review helps others.

The doors are great - the install is time consuming!
If you are looking for a solid set of doors for your SxS, these are it. First of all, the packaging was amazing. The company really cares about getting an undamaged product to their customer. It was packed in expanding foam and all of the parts were thoroughly wrapped in plastic and foam packaging. Everything arrived in great condition. The install is rather time consuming and hairy. I would have given the product a 4.5 stars (if possible), but I deducted a star due to the installation instructions. The instructions could use a little work. I watched the video online a couple of times before installing as well - which was a big help. Without the video, the instructions would leave you in the dark on a few items. I do with the video included a little more detail on installing the new pan heads on the lower rocker panel - i.e. skid plate lineup. I also wished that they would have shown a maverick and a commander video separately with a few more tips.Plan on spending all day on a Saturday and maybe part of the day on Sunday. I would say it could be installed in 4-6 hours; but in my case I had a lot of mud in places I couldn't imagine mud getting - so I took the opportunity to wash the undercarriage while I had it apart - which added 2 hours or so to the process. I would also state that it isn't the Dragonfire product that makes the install time consuming. It is actually the vehicle the is tough to take everything apart to get to the parts to be bolted. If the vehicle were easier to disassemble and if they would not have riveted the lower rocker panels to the machine, it would have been about 1/2 hour faster to get things going.I would say the easiest part after you get around the CAM AM plastics is installing the doors. They go on super easy. I was really worried about alignment of the doors - they aligned perfectly! The clearances from the plastics was pretty decent. My passenger side was a little off, but not too bad. I was able to get a wrench in behind the door pins and tighten up pretty well. I may add some locktite to the door pins in the near future to ensure they don't come unbolted through vibration of machine use.Take your time! That is my biggest piece of advice for a neat, quality installation... Or have your local dealer install them for you if you don't have all of the tools. By the way, they failed to mention a few tools needed to perform the install. You will need a couple sets of metric wrenches/drivers/sockets to complete the installation. Fortunately I had all of the metric tools, so it went well in that regard.Lining up the plastic parts for reassembly is a chore. There are some difficult bolt/fastener locations on the machine that is difficult to get to with an impact driver/drill. Again - just take your time and go at it slow. Even some hand Torx drivers come in handy in addition to some impact/drill based drivers. The one frustrating thing of this installation was the modifications to the machine. It is NOT a direct bolt on kit! There is some minor cutting of plastic and you are drilling out your frame. The one thing I hated doing was drilling out the side support bar in order to fit the Dragonfire door hinge arm on the machine. This doesn't allow me to uninstall the doors if I were to get a new machine and reinstall the factory nets. Pretty much the nets are useless when complete. I am likely going to sell mine on EBay or something of that sort - or see if my dealer wants to trade them for some shop hours! The doors on the machine are awesome. They look great, operate easily, and even lock to keep you from accidentally opening them while riding down the trail. I do still need to get some trail time in with the doors to further evaluate. I am hoping that everything stays tight. The nylon nuts should keep the hidden parts rather tight. The other parts are accessible, so I am not as worried about those getting a little loose - again, I will likely add some locktite. One other consideration is perhaps having the doors painted to match the vehicle; but I like the black contrast to my yellow Commander.Overall, I would recommend these doors to others. I do recommend that if you aren't handy with tools and mechanicals to just pay your dealer the $300 or so they might charge to install. I would say that if I had to do it all over, I may have leaned that direction. However, if I had to install another set of these, I could probably do it in 1/2 of the time now knowing what to expect.
