I have ordered the 3 pack (28 ounce each) previously from Sunseed & have been satisfied. This time I ordered the single bag & thought it felt light, as well as you could see all the way through the bag’s window. I used my digital scale & the bag was 24 ounces, not 28 ounces (it is by weight, not volume). I cannot return this bag & I am extremely disappointed. I will try to reach out to the company directly as it cannot be returned via Amazon. As for the pictures, the brighter picture was taken directly from the company website. The dimmer picture is the actual picture of the bag I received.

My degus eat this right up. They really like the dried veggies in it. They highly recommend this food.

I'm fostering degus for a local small animal rescue and they have a very strict and particular diet. I didn't know much about degus before they arrived so I spoke to degu owners in forums, in person and I researched them on reputable degu specific online sites. Sun Seed Vita Exotics Degu formula was the one that everyone agreed was one of the best food to feed degus, if not the best available. My fosters are a 2 year old female degu and her three 4 month old daughters and they love it. They never leave any behind and they line up at the cage door to be fed by hand every day (I feed them a small amount by hand and put the rest of the food in bowls inside their cage). The babies are growing up well and mama seems very happy and healthy. I would highly recommend this food for anyone who has degus; it meets all their nutritional needs without adding anything they shouldn't be eating.

This used to be the ONLY food I could find for degus in the US. The price is high but since there are not a lot of options you get what you can. Degus CANNOT have sugar/molasses, etc. in their food because they can't produce their own insulin and can easily become diabetic if not given the proper food. My degus love this food and they are healthy! Thanks!

This is the only place I can find specifically degu food. Been using it a couple years now. My little guys are doing great with this food. Highly recommend. I think it is a bit expensive, but then that is par for the course with specialty food.

I rescued 2 Degu and they hadn't had a lot of nutritional valuable food in their lives. I did some research and found this to be a great product. Once I received it they ate it and love it. They don't pick through it like they did the other food they were given.

Sun Seed has my favorite Degu food, I absolutely love this blend. My Degus eat it well and have had no issues what so ever. The only hang up I have is the bag sizes available. I wish they sold the bigger bags.

No longer buying this stuff. Found a better brand that is a little better in price by a few dollars and my degus prefer.I gave them a bowl of vita prima and science selective, they dont even touch vita prima, they polished off science selective. Vita prima has a more dusty smell, while science selective smells very much of Timothy hay, makes me think it's fresher.My package came damaged this time around, which was the final thing to make me decide to make the switch.Thank you customer service for giving me a refund, I plan to buy what I now recommend, science selective, also currently on amazon.
