Great Sling Pack for the Money
When I go fishing I always take my vest and backpack. The vest is for everything I need while fishing and the backpack is for extra items I may need as well as food and water. I have had my vest for twenty plus years. I added the backpack when I moved to Alaska and started salmon fishing and needed extra flys, gear, and food when I am on the water for several hours. It is an old bright yellow school pack cast off by one of my kids close to fifteen years ago. The pack sits on the bank when I fish because it is a hassle to take it off on the water and hold it with my rod in hand. I have been considering a new vest and pack in the last few years with the new style vests and packs coming out. I have been leaning towards a sling pack as it seemed most the functional with less bulk than a regular pack. I was hoping to use it to replace both my vest and pack. I can keep it full and out of the way until I need it and can easily swing it around to my chest without having to remove it.After seeing the prices of name brand sling packs on the market, I decided on this one from AnglerDream. I purchased a reel from them last year and was happy with it so I decided to try this sling pack also. The pack seems well made with three zippered compartments. The first and largest compartment against the back side of the pack is three inches thick and contains a large nylon pocket with an elastic top. Probably large enough for a small lunch or snacks. The middle compartment is two inches thick with four mesh pockets with elastic tops. These are much smaller, perfect for small fly boxes or hooks, weights, and other fishing supplies. The front compartment is the thinnest and is great for a couple of larger fly boxes. Each compartment zips open from the top to the bottom of one side only. I like the three separate compartments rather than my present pack which has only one compartment so every it stuffed into it with no organization. The front of the pack has a small diagonally zippered compartment in the lower corner. This is pretty small and probably good for a license, wallet, etc. A nice feature here also is the retractable lanyard with a clip that can be used to hold tools that you want access to quickly. Lastly, there is a nylon strap sewn into the front with four loops to attach items. A small but nice feature is that all the zippers have pulls, making for easy pulling. The backside of the pack has four square mesh covered pads allowing air movement when worn. The shoulder strap runs diagonally across the chest and clips to the waistband. This strap is almost four inches at the top and narrows to two inches at the bottom. The shoulder strap also has a D ring just above the waistband. This may be a good location for pliers. I somehow lost my Dr Slick pliers last year in furious run of silver salmon and I was rushing back to the water after releasing a fish. A couple of other features is a handle for carrying the pack sideways and another strap on the shoulder strap to carry the pack upright.Overall, I like the pack. It does not have some of the features of high-end packs but it does not have the high-end price either. The only feature that I would want at this price is a sleeve for a water bottle. As a side note, a downside to this listing is that it has four different packs listed and lumps all the reviews together. The problem with this is that you have to sort through all the reviews to find one for the specific pack you want nor can you get an accurate summary rating for each specific pack.

Great for all outdoorsmen
This is great for hunter or fisherman. The adjustable size makes it big enough for even a large size man. Will be a great gift for our son. I am very pleased.

I should have listened to the comments about the zippers.
The zippers are made out of the wimpiest, frailest, plastic I have ever seen. Both of the top zippers broke off while barely pulling them. After they came off I could easily break the zipper into about 10 more pieces just byu using finger strength. Why the hell would anyone sell this item with those zippers?? Is there no quality control?Hopefully the manufacturer gets there act together and sends their customers replacement zippers of NORMAL quality, because as of right now this bag is useless.

Best bang for your buck!
This vest is awesome. Two fly patch pockets with work surfaces, several other large pockets and a very large pocket in the rear. The net hanger loop in the back is very strong as well. You can run it zipped or just unzip and use the clasp to keep it secured. This has replaced my sling for wading. Never though that Would happen. I cam carry more gear and it is better distributed also which helps keep weight off my shoulders and back.Love it. Would recommend this to a friend for sure!

Perfect for just heading out for some fly fishing relaxation.
I would have given it a 5 start however, both zipper handles on the main pocket snapped due to poor quality. I will have to make an adjustment or use a keychain to pull the zipper. Other than that it works great and fits beers perfectly for handy access in between casts. Perfect for hitting small streams, lakes or ponds. The narrow pockets on either side are perfect size for cigars and sunglasses.

There's a design problem with upper zippersThat weight in lower pockets puts stress on the teeth of zipper causing them to fail. Zipper should be vertical so material of vest takes weight and not zipper teeth.
