I had no problem setting my own code number. The numbers are easy to see being white on black and you can feel them aligning as you move the cylinders. Once they are aligned you release the end of the cable by just pushing it sideways. Four numbers are safer than three as they take much longer to crack. The cable is sufficiently long for me to lock both compartments of my suitcase with a single lock. I use a strap round my suitcase and tuck the lock in under it to avoid it getting caught by the baggage handling machinery. As others have said it is fairly heavy but given the weight of most suitcases this is not really a problem. I've only used it on one journey but so far I'm very pleased with it.

When you get them you feel the weight and they are chunky weighty locks that look and feel good quality.The secret to setting them is to push the pin in on the bottom so that it holds internally, set, then click it out again, don't try and "hold it in" while fiddling like some other locks.But what I don't get is: Given the weight and quality of the lock, why not make the cable fatter? If the lock is great and the cable too thin, then .. kind of defeats the purpose. I'd think sadly it could be cut quite easily, given the quality of the rest of the lock, it seems a shame.To unlock there is no button but it's not hard (I think another review might've complained), you just have to tug it a certain direction.

The locks are top quality and provide me that extra bit of peace of mind with the added security they bring to my luggage. When changing the default combination setting (0-0-0-0) to a personalised set of numbers, pay close attention to the instructions. I didn't follow the instructions closely enough and I needed some Customer Support. Wow it was second to absolutely none - response within a few hours, commitment to resolve the issues and regular follow-up to ensure everything was okay again. I was and am very impressed withy the overall experience and results. When I need more Locks I will be going to ZHEGE. JP.

AFTER A FEW TRIES --- I CAME ACCROSS THESE---THEY ARE EASY TO READ--THEY ARE SOLID AND WORK EVERY TIME--IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RELIABLE CASE LOCK WITH DECENT MECHANISMS ---SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF HASSLE AND ORDER THESE---CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES OUT THERE BUT MOST ARE AWKWARD NOT EASY TO READ AND TOTALLY UNRELIABLE---ALSO IT IS EASY TO SET UP YOUR COMBINATION.

I used these locks when going on a long haul flight. The locks held up and were useful for travelling.

Bought & used these locks before, replacing ones damaged (ripped off) our bike boxes, by the uncaring groundcrew! They are easy to use and strong.

Good product and secure but quite weighty, which may add to the weight of the suitcase when travelling.

I havent used yet but they seem like good solid locks. Happy with them
