Avalon 0581 - Dummy (French Closet) Door Handles NO Latch Mechanism in Satin Nickel Finish (Set of 2)

I purchased this as i wanted a Lever handle - easy to find - but also had to cover an existing oversized hole. The joys of old houses. Very hard to find, so when i found this I bought one to try. Despite good reviews, i was a little skeptical. But when it arrived - very fast - i was immediately impressed but the quality, feel and overall finish.It's now installed and I will definitely be getting more of same to replace all existing handles in my house.Well worth the money and more.

We've been wanting to replace our door knobs with door handles. We finally found these Avalon handles and they are terrific. The design is said to be contemporary; but it fits well to our non-contemporary style decor. They are relatively easy to install, quiet, and the solid handle really gives them the quality feel. Here is my installation experience: The lock mechanism that is inserted into the edge of the door is slightly larger than some of the round holes in our doors. I had to chisel out corners in order for the lock to fit into the round hole. Not a big problem, it just took a few more minutes. There is a plate that covers the lock, I had to chisel the recess deeper so the plate fits flush with the edge of the door. There is a plastic rectangle 'cup' like thing that supposedly goes behind the strike plate. The hole behind the strike is round and it would have taken me too much time to chisel a rectangle hole, so I tossed the plastic cup. Overall, this is a great quality buy.

2-3/8" offset may not be not as common as 2-3/4" but workable. Finish and quality are very high for price. Clean modern design that has very comfortable handle to operate.

Very happy with this lever set.Nice form and function. Feels good and sturdy in the hand. Don't have to turn far to use. Has a nice finish and large size. Looks perfect in our mid century home. I like that it's unique.Replaced old brass knobs last year inside our Airbnb using Schlage handles. We were thinking it would be a step up from our usual go to dinky Kwikset but after a little over a year every privacy/locking handle in the house is broken and unrepairable. I can see where guests have been dragging furniture in front of the doors to baracade themselves in at night. Pretty frustrated with Schlage..

Since we dumped all our ugly hollow core doors for nice doors we thought (correctly) that modern classy but functional door handles were in order. First looker made an offer and these didn't hurt.

this was simple to install, has clean lines with a little bit of flare to not look like an institutional door handle.

Very nice item, far better than popular brands at $4 less. The form is perfect. Heavy, well made.Designed in US, made in China.
