Epic Dog Clothing Cool White Dog Shirt Large

I bought this to cover an incision on my dog's shoulder until her stitches came out. I have two other shirts for her and both are size medium. After reading the reviews, I ordered the large. My dog is 13" tall and has a 17-1/2" girth which includes a medium thick coat. This was just slightly too tight for her. Even after stretching it out she wasn't very comfortable in it. I think with a short haired dog it would be a better fit. The quality is good. The fabric was heavier than I expected and all the seams were securely stitched. I took off the one star because measurements were not provided in the description.

Reading past reviews, I got a size bigger than recommended by the sizing chart. On my 9lb Terrier Chihuahua mix (who is rather slim in her body) it is a bit baggy on her. She is who I got it for. On my 13 lb Jack Russel who is all muscle but not as slim bodied as the other it fits smidge tight. So in my experience the size you choose depends on the build of your dog. If I went by weight or type of dog only then I feel I would make the wrong decision. If your dog is very trim and thin then get the recommended size from the sizing chart. If the dog is trim but bulky/muscly (like my Jack Russel) then get the next size up. If you dog is a rolly polly like my 18lb beagle....then get them on a diet and in the short term maybe think about 2 sizes depending on the amount of weight/frame size.

I originally ordered this in a size Small for my 7 pound chihuahua. Great ribbed fabric, but it was just too small. It was tight on my dog and looked like a doggy crop-top. I ended up ordering a size Medium which fits perfectly and comfortably on her. My 11 pound chihuahua/jack mix has a longer torso and fits great in the Large. These are great shirts, just might want to consider ordering one size up if you prefer the length to cover more of the dog's back and less snug around the body.

Don't be fooled by the size "large" listed in the title. The shirt is a size medium at best. The quality of the material is heavy duty and nice, but this will not fit a dog that weighs over 25 pounds. It is slightly stretchy but not THAT stretchy to be considered a large.
