Doesn't generate enough force to cut.
I bought this because it has one of the widest openings for cutting thick toenails. However, the steel is too springy and it doesn't generate enough force to clip nails well. You can easily get it on your thick toenail, but as you squeeze it, the material bends so much that it won't cut. As a test, I took another more traditional toenail clipper and tried to cut the corner off an old credit card. Worked easily with no issues. Then I used the Vixen. The clipper was totally compressed as far as it would go, but it could not generate enough force to clip the corner off the credit card. And by that time the spring steel is so torqued that it popped out of my hand as the steel sprung back into shape, Not a good purchase.

Power tool
For some reason, my toenails get a millimeter thicker for every year that goes by. By now, that means I usually have to break out a rotary saw when its time for a trim. Actually these are one of only a few pairs of standard toenail clippers that hold up to my toenails. Usually I have to get those power chopping clippers that look like wire cutters involved at some point, but not with these. They are heavy duty, razor sharp, easy to use and even let me trim and shape the sides of each toenail. Recommend<discount provided for evaluation and review

They worked, but...
Unlike probably most people, I have toenails like granite, so my case may be unusual. It seems a bit silly to write a lengthy review on clippers, but anyone with nails like mine will know that finding clippers that won't break -- or that have a blade opening large enough -- can be difficult. Two issues prevent the 5-star rating for me.1) The clippers, while pretty, are smooth, stainless steel - a slippery surface that's hard to grab, so your fingers slip on and off while trying to bear down. If they're "heavy duty," as those of us with thick, stiff nails need, maybe a brushed metal or rubber coating would help.2) In order to get any leverage on the blade, you have to squeeze the clippers from almost the very edge (farthest away from the blade). With the "heavy duty" condition of my nails, I couldn't get enough pressure, and twice (with the help of the ultra-smooth metal) the clippers sprang out of my hand. The blade is plenty sharp, though, and once I held my mouth and hand *just* right, everything worked. And there you go: TMI about clippers. :-)

Flimsy toenail clippers
The spacing between the clippers / jaws is not as wide as the Mehaz toenail clippers. The main reason for the 3-rating was that it entirely came apart after first use - the top lever separated from the small beveled bolt holding everything together. So, I'd label this as poor design. Yes. the blades are sharp, but somehow the levers didn't provide sufficient leverage. I would definitely not call this 'heavy duty'.

Elegant Form, but Awkward to Use
This product violates the design maxim that form should follow function. It is a beautiful and elegant design, but is unworkable for its intended function because it can not be held and controlled comfortably for cutting nails. When flipped open the handle or lever has a smooth reverse curve. I am male with average size hands and strength. My thumb slips down the lever from its end to the mid-point and there is not enough leverage to cut my nails. I must anchor the end of the lever in the ball or web of my thumb in order to cut. It is uncomfortable and awkward and difficult to use, especially for my left hand. I have used the product for six months, but will be buying a different clipper. Finally, it is too large to fit as a replacement in my leather case that accommodates two large size clippers and a folding nail file.

Won't recommend.
I finally had to throw these away.. I'm not really understanding all the good reviews except maybe those people had strong hands. I found these very awkward to use. They were longer then I expected and I was unable to hold it in the middle without my hand sliding down to the cutting edge, which is useless. If held at the end it is hard (for me anyway) to guide where on the toenail to cut. Honestly I have no idea if these things cut well of not, I couldn't manage to get any nail to cut.My advise is to think twice before ordering.

Super toenail clippers!
Wow what a great pair of nail clippers, never knew what I was missing until I ordered these, what a difference using a quality pair of nail clippers makes, they cut with a nice smooth clean lines on each nail, making my toenails look nice and healthy.
