SEI Furniture Jaymes Metal & Glass 3-Tier End, Accent Table, Black/Silver Distressing

I love this table. I needed a side table to complement my existing furniture as matching it would be difficult. I liked the modern feel of the class and metal and the distressed paint feel made it less masculine and more contemporary. The table itself is very sturdy and simple to put together. The packaging was very careful so none of the glass pieces were at risk. It's just the perfect size, the openness of glass makes it feel less crowded in the area it's at, and the shelves are very nice to decorate and display on. Most negative reviews are for the distressed paint which I knew of before I purchased and I can say I wouldn't like the piece as much without it.

Pros -three practical shelves open on all sides, lot of real estate for life's necessities you keep next to your recliner -parts were complete and well labeled. This was especially helpful with the legs. -assembly is easy when done right (see comments below) -well packaged. Not a chip on anything -rounded corners on the glass pieces -nice finish. I like the streaky black. It looks all black in some light. The streaks are far more interesting than stark black or boring brass. Cons -one screw stripped when tightened, but it's still holding. -couple tiny, annoying stickers on each piece of glass left glue residue that had to be cleaned off. Not too time-consuming, though Comments and suggestions: -When assembling this little table, start all 16 screws and washers. Do not tighten anything, so legs still move a bit. This will make it easy to wiggle and hold the parts to align the screw holes. Once all screws have been started, they can be tightened. I do opposite corners as I go up through the table. -I used a hex bit in my wratcheting screwdriver. I hate those little hex wrenches they include in these boxes. -If you want to spray paint the frame, no need to do it before assembling. The glass pieces lift right out.

I ordered two tables, they arrived promptly and were securely packaged. They were very easy to put together. I did have to play around a bit loosening and tightening screws to get everything to line up squarely before a final tightening, but it took maybe 45 minutes to complete both tables. The glass fits securely in the frames, and the tables came with clear rubber pads for under the corners of the glass, as well as foam pads for the table legs. The leg bottoms are very heavy, so the table is very stable. Like other reviewers, I was not thrilled with the "distressed" finish, that's why the four stars. So I painted my tables a bronze-ish color before putting the glass in, and I think they look great. The table is a useful size, not too big, and the two lower shelves are perfect for keeping remote controls, etc., accessible without cluttering up the tabletop. I'm planning on painting the top glass with a stencil and frosted glass paint to add some visual interest and obscure the view of the remote controls/game controllers. I think these tables are a good value for the money; they're not fine furniture, but you're not paying for fine furniture, and they beat particleboard and fake wood finishes! Amazon also had them cheaper than other online sources.

As an invalid I spend most of my time in my recliner, and my end table was very crowded. I bought two of these and put them butted against each other. On their 3 shelves they hold all my stuff without crowding. The glass is very easy to clean, and helps me see what I have on all the shelves. I think they would have looked better with a brown finish instead of black, but that is minor - they look ok. They are very sturdy and solid. I am very happy with them.

This is a great table for the price. Glass, frame and legs came in perfect condition. Wanted a brown table, it spray painted quick and beautifully. Went together easily and is very sturdy on carpet. The glass is thick and edged very nicely like others have commented. Have looked around to compare and nothing comes in as nice for the money.

I don't know how one can mess up a table but here is a shining example. Where do I begin with the cheap quality... - In the photo is the black paint/metal look. Normally I understand the look they're attempting to emulate. On this table, it looks like one coat of cheap black paint was hastily applied and sent off and never finished. - Construction: I had seen after buying some reviews saying that some of the screws don't line up. I can't understand how that could be acceptable to other buyers for the price of this table (My order was $96 after product, shipping, and tax). When assembling the two middle tiers, I had to force the legs together to get all four screws on each level in. The top level is where the screws don't fit. I think I was able to get 3/8 screws installed. - Materials: The glass actually seemed alright but the metal itself is crappy. In comparison, I got a similar all metal 3-tier table from a different retailer, with slightly cheaper metal, but for only $20. Needless to say, it was returned quickly.

I ordered 2 tables and they arrived in excellent condition within a few days. The height is perfect! The finish is a beautiful antique-look. One of the reviews stated that the black paint they used look cheap. On the frame you can see that the sliver was painted over top of the black finish, not that the black paint is sparse. In my opinion they do not look cheap. If you do not like the antique-look, these may not be for you unless you repaint them. I agree with another review that said to make sure to leave the screws a little loose until the unit is fully put together. Some of the holes may not be exactly aligned. Once completed, tighten all screws. Everything you need for installation is included. Once I figured everything out it took about 10 minutes to put together. Enjoy!

Nice table, sturdy and heavy enough to not move around. I also have the sofa table and they fit in any decor.
