Great Looking, but dont expect too much from it!
What the product description doesnt tell you is that this is a PRE-ASSEMBLED model kit. The toy is a fairly durable plastic, but most of the articulation points are snap off ball joints. The plastic sockets will eventually wear out, but what I got out of the box seemed fairly sturdy and tight to allow for posing and display. While this model is already assembled, here is the big catch: Transforming the kit between any of the three modes requires removing of parts and adding others. This can be quite a chore and takes a bit of time, especially since the instructions are in Japanese, though it has pictures that are not difficult to follow. There are many parts that need to be swapped out when changing modes. Landing gear, different gripped hands, and other components are all in the box and easy to loose if not careful. There is no need to do any painting or applying of decals, which was nice. I actually was expecting to do a lot more work with this kit to get it displayable, but other than the transforming process, I didn't worry about it.Overall, I love this thing. I was a fan of the anime and wanted one of these for my collection (hopefully the first of many). Just keep in mind that this isnt something that you will play with much. Its more for display and cool factor.

save your money to buy one of Bandai's far superior DX Chogokin Renewal toys
Small, delicate, fiddly, and far too many parts! Conversion between Battroid, Gerwalk, and Fighter modes requires disassembly and heavy parts swapping. Mine has stress marks on the shoulders after just transforming between the three modes once.Unless you really feel the burning desire for a 1/100 scale version of the VF-25S, save your money to buy one of Bandai's far superior DX Chogokin Renewal toys.

looks nice but wouldn't hold up for long
Got my package and the first thing I noticed was how small and... plastic this Valkyrie is. The head broke off within a minute of opening the package. The instructions illustrate dismantling the Valkyrie to change modes, but it just isn't durable enough to survive. All I did was move the arms and twist the head and SNAP! Looks gorgeous and I had high hopes for this as particular collectible, but it just wasn't worth it.

Intricate and fragile
I agree with the other two reviews. This is a beautifully intricate figure, allowing the owner to replicate the VF-25S in any of its three modes with great attention to detail; but frankly I am amazed I managed to transform it without breaking it. This is a smaller figure than I expected (about five inches tall), and almost all of the hinges (and there are many!) are ball-in-socket between two pieces of plastic, requiring more force than I was comfortable with to disconnect and reconnect them (as was required, frequently, when transforming the figure). Even now, brand-new, there are so many moving parts and not enough friction in the joints that it's difficult to pose the figure; it tends to slouch awkwardly. (Meanwhile the wrists, knees, and ankles don't bend enough; they look stiff when posed.) I imagine that much more fiddling would wear down the joints or break something, so I'm going to leave it in Gerwalk mode. The instructions are entirely in Japanese, with each step illustrated by a low-constrast black-and-white postage-stamp-sized picture. With patience, I was able to figure out what they were telling me to do.Really, I have to emphasize that this is a beautiful figure with no detail forgotten; for example, in fighter mode, there are "closed landing gear doors" pieces and "landing gear extended with open doors" pieces, and for the rear gear both the closed and open doors have SMS001 lettering on them. It's just a shame that so many pieces need to be swapped out when transforming it: mostly the piece where the legs attach, the pieces to which the shoulders attach, the hands, the head, and the tailfins. The engine intakes have tiny ball-socketed pieces which kept falling off for me. I kind of wondered why they bothered having any of this figure preassembled at all (the cockpit is connected by an overly clever set of hinges); this might fare a lot better as a kind of Lego set.
