Noisy, poorly designed, but cheap and useful.
I didn't really believe people saying this was noisy since it's so small... but they were right. It's actually not so much the noise level, it's that it is a very high pitch noise. I'm struggling to find someplace in my house where I care about the values it is sensing, and won't hear it. Even rooms with air purifiers running don't work because the high pitch noise is still audible over the fan.Anyway, as for the actual function, it seems good. I think this was the cheapest HomeKit PM2.5 sensor at the time I purchased. All of my readings were very low for the first few weeks so I started to think maybe I didn't really need this. Then all of a sudden one night it started flashing purple and said bad air quality. I was confused, and thought the unit was defective. After bringing outside, seeing it drop to excellent air, then back in and back to bad air, I suddenly realized that a few hours earlier I turned on a humidifier. It turns out, using tap water in a humidifier causes huge amounts of fine dust in the air! I now know I need to use distilled or very well filtered water to avoid this. So, the unit may be bad, but it did lead to this big discovery... may even be the reason we all coughed all last winter. We thought that was due to dry air so we increased humidifier usage, but maybe that was actually making it worse.Beyond that, the app is pretty bad, the settings are very difficult to change on the unit itself (and I can't find any way to change the in the app). This is clearly a very poorly designed product and cheaply made, but... as I said, it was also cheap to buy.So for now this earned it's keep and I'm past the return period. But this is far from a great product. I just wish Eve made a PM2.5 sensor! Their VOC sensor is awesome!

Sleek looking product, no product support
This item looks sleek has a nice clean display, is easy to use and for the most part quiet. That being said I do not know if it functions as an air quality meter because the one shipped to me was defective. As I don't know much about air quality monitors, I selected this one based on the fact that it had decent reviews AND came with product support from Amazon. Well...product support is not all it's cracked up to be, more on that later.Once I got the device unboxed and plugged in (the manual is only 3 pages in English and doesn't mention calibration or troubleshooting) the unit only registered "1". That would indicate that I have some of the cleanest air in the world. How fortunate.Realizing that there must be some further setup necessary beyond what is in the manual I looked for an app. I found the app for the family of products from Koogeek and installed it on my phone. There is a small wizard interface which asks you to select your product. The air quality monitor isn't listed. No problem, there is also a "detector" mode. All you have to do for the detector mode is make sure the unit is discover-able. No mention of how to actually do that. The device only has one button which doesn't have a menu to make it discover-able. No problem, there is another option to scan the QR code on the unit (also on the box and the inner packaging). That's a great option except the software has a glitch that doesn't allow it to continue after it takes a pic of the QR code.Ok, no problem, I bought this particular unit because it has Amazon support. This was important to me because I don't like trying to do overseas tech support via email with the 1-2 day delay. I went online with Amazon product support specialist who sent me a series of you tube videos to watch as support. The first video was for a blood pressure monitor. The second video was for a smart hub and the last video was in German.Ok, I still have one last remedy...my least favorite...write to the manufacturer and hope for the best. The product support specialist assured me that this company has a service level agreement with amazon in which they are required to respond within a specified period of time. I emailed 4 days ago and no reply was given. The good news is that it was super easy to get back into it's packaging.TL;DR If your unit is defective out of the box, send it back right away as there is no support whatsoever for this item.

Poorly designed, but still an amazing value
I really wanted to give this 1-star as the software is horrible, the UI is frustrating, the unit feels âcheapâ, and the overall experience using it is not great. However, the unit does seem to do a really good job of measuring air quality. While I have no way of knowing if the number on the screen is accurate as I have nothing to compare it to, I do have confidence that the relative number on the screen is meaningful. If I keep the unit near my HEPA purifier, the number reported goes way down. If I go into rooms or my garage where there is no purifier, the number goes way up. Outside here in Oregon where the air quality is horrible, the number goes up even higher. I feel that it is really useful in helping me to understand how well my purifiers are working, and where I need to move them to. And the fact that it is home-kit compatible, and includes a motion sensor, light & sound meters, as well as temperature and humidity makes it really good value. Some people commented that the unit is noisy. It does have a slight âwhirrâ of its fan that might be annoying if you kept it in your bedroom. However, it is not that noticeable, and I would guess that it is necessary to have a fan blowing to move air through the unit in order to measure air quality.

Unusable
I really like this device, but itâs rendered useless for what I purchased it for. I wanted the information fed in to HomeKit. However, every 2 days, it becomes unresponsive. Only fixable by completely resetting it, deleting it from HomeKit, and re-adding it. Guess Iâll just use it as an unintuitive night light. Or a paperweight.

Easy set up air monitor
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â I live in California and figured it would be a good idea to get an air monitor to keep track of the air quality with the fires and other issues here.Pros:â Display is backlit beautifullyâ Information is easy to view and can be toggled to show different displaysâ The motion sensor which can be set to turn on the nightlight is wonderfulâ The unit itself has a small footprint and is really great lookingâ Set up was done in secondsI donât want to say these are cons but I do wish the USB charging cable was a tad longer, however, since the unit has a rechargeable battery I donât truly consider that a con.
