Very effective and comfortable
I have purchased several of these over the years. I cannot sleep without it. It costs a fraction of the price of the one that my dentist made for me ($200) and it is a LOT more comfortable. The custom one made by my dentist lasted a little longer, for sure, but I don't mind buying these with some frequency. They last me 6 to 8 months - you get 2 pairs, I keep one at home and one in my travel bag. I tried MANY other brands of "disposable" guards, but this is the one that fits me the best and it's the most comfortable.

Low-Profile Solution
JAW PAIN AND CLENCHING. I've struggled with TMD (TMJ) for a few years now, and the disorder is absolutely miserable and unrelenting. Sometimes, I cry at night and feel miserable and hopeless about it because there was nothing that helped. I was stuck! The Dentek device now gives me something to try that works better than everything else, and I have literally spent $100s of US dollars on multiple other devices and remedies. The jaw muscle is incredibly strong. No one realizes this until you have a problem. When my jaw acts up, there's nothing I can do to relax it. My symptoms get really bad, my jaw starts clicking, my jaw won't stop clenching, and it's painful to eat and talk, the night brace helps keep my back teeth apart offering me some relief. DESCRIPTION. It's lower profile (thinner) with two small T-shaped shields that position between your back teeth. TIP: I don't put it on my back teeth because of my gag reflex. Then, there's about a 3 inch adjustable band that connects the two shield pieces. This piece has a flatter profile against your teeth. It fits into the top of the shield pieces. It clicks 4-5 spots into the shield pieces on each side so you can get the perfect fit for your sized mouth/teeth. While the shields go between your back teeth, the connecting band goes on the front of your upper teeth. EASY TO USE. The device is straight forward and simple to use. There is nothing to boil and shape. There is nothing to trim. It's ready to go when you open it. Obviously, clean it before putting in your mouth is important. All you have to do is put it in your mouth. The big parts that look like shields go between your back teeth. The thin connector goes in front of your upper teeth. If it doesn't fit perfectly, take it out and make it bigger or smaller. Then, try it again until it's customized to your unique mouth. STORAGE BOX. It comes with a storage box for daytime storage. However, when your jaw gets bad, you can pull it out for daytime wear to give your clenched jaw some relief. Rinse the device and box daily. Actually, the storage box is also pretty clever too. It has holes in the top and bottom to dry everything out. It has some internal slats on the bottom of the container to keep the device from laying flat in the box. This helps prevent bacterial growth, and as a nurse I really like that. GETTING USED TO IT. Because of my gag reflex, and I just don't like weird devices in my mouth. So, I didn't like it at first. I had to try it a few nights to get used to it. TIP: I would try it out for a few hours every evening after dinner to get used to it. Put it in after dinner when you're watching TV or reading so you're distracted and not obsessing about something new being in your mouth. If that trial goes well, try it overnight. Honestly, there's nothing else that works better to give your back teeth clenching relief from the incessant pain and pressure. If you are desperate and tried everything else like me, give this Dentek device a try. OTHER DEVICES. For $25, it's more expensive than others. The other appliances out there are good ideas, but are way too thick and trigger my gag reflex. They fill my mouth with thick plastic, when I just needed help on my back teeth. Also, some are so thick and awkward, they made my bite even worse. I don't need a device to make my bite worse, I have enough troubles. RECOMMENDATION. All mouth appliances feel weird in your mouth, but if you must use something, Dektek Mouth Guard is definitely the best! Believe me, I have tried a lot of them. All good ideas, but way too bulky. Some other devices even made my problems worse. But this device is the lowest profile out there while still being safe so you don't choke on it. It is a really smart device. I would highly recommend it for relief from devastating jaw pain and tension!

Teeth grinding relief from tmj
I have had tmj for a long time. When my ent doc recommended buying a night guard off of Amazon I didn’t love the idea lol. But as she had said it’s cheaper than having to get one from a dentist and pay 300 for it. I tried soo many and I didn’t like the bigger ones you have to mold because they tend to be too tight and uncomfortable and they end up hurting my mouth and jaw. I found this one and I love that it’s a more loose fit. And it definitely beats waking up to my jaw locking up every morning so it’s a win for me. My only complaint is these say they last 6 months. They don’t. I grind bad at night and go through 2 a month. Sometimes 3. But it’s still worth it though especially since it’s provides comfort and relief.

I swallowed this.
I was at first pleased by the positive reviews that I'd seen of this dental guard. And truly, when I received the two-pack and inspected the product, I thought it a pretty wise buy. I adjusted one of the mouthguards to fit onto my lower teeth comfortably, and that night I was sleeping sound. The material was comfortable and I barely felt the guard in my mouth, unlike other more obtrusive guards I had tried. The material is a very flexible plastic, if you were to pick it up by the narrow center band you would find the guard drooping lazily between your fingers. The first night, I slept nearly the entire night with the guard in, and only did I briefly wake in the early morning to remove it from my mouth, as after a few hours even something so small and comfortable can begin to irritate. I chalked this up to being unaccustomed to wearing the device and looked forward to my next night of wearing it, knowing I'd be protecting my chompers against future tooth wear. It was the second night that was the trouble. I put it in just fine when I went to bed and went to sleep, nothing out of the ordinary so far. I awoke, however, in the wee hours of the night, to find there was no guard in my mouth at all. I had originally thought I had just spat it out in my sleep, but as I searched though the bedsheets, my husband awoke to inform me that I'd been choking on something earlier. I at first expressed displeasure in knowing he witnessed me choking in my sleep and did nothing to assist, but he assured me that it was a fairly brief matter with about thirty seconds of coughing and sputtering before the sounds subsided and I was swept back into a peaceful slumber. I kept searching through the bedsheets, on the floor. Surely this couldn't have been true. Could I have swallowed the thing? As I turned up with nothing, and thought about the description of the choking episode I had earlier in the evening, I was far less pleased with the purchase of this mouthguard. Husband and I inspected the other mouthguard that had been contained in the two-pack, trying to determine exactly how much trouble I'd be in by gulping it down my hatch. The plastic can actually be twisted and compacted into a space smaller than a quarter, and the guard does not have any metal components or nasty snags, even if you pull the two larger blue plastic pieces off. We decided against a trip to urgent care and decided to simply... let it pass. I had some weird digestion pains for a couple of days, but other than that I am none worse for wear. The mouth guard eventually ended up where it needed to be, the very place where I should have put it right when I bought it: flushed down the toilet. In conclusion, this mouthguard seems quite comfortable and effective at its designed purpose. But I have to subtract copious stars here, because it can only do that if it stays in your mouth, and out of your digestional tract.

Great! These are amazing, SUPER comfortable, adjustable I’ve tried a few nightguards to stop teeth grinding and these are by far above and beyond the best. Not much noticeable once in

First time needing or purchasing a night guard and I could not be more pleased with this purchase, and this product. I’m currently in the middle of some dental work so I was hesitant to invest in a guard that would be useless after each dental procedure. Obviously this guard doesn’t offer a perfect snug fit since it’s not one that you can heat and mold, but for my current situation, this is absolutely perfect.

Absolut keine Kaufempfehlung!! Eigentlich Null-Sterne
