Bought 3 oz. for New years and was disappointed. I am sure they use organic and environmentally sound methods, but it has no characteristic flavor, and for this price it should be fabulous. I didn't expect it to be a copy of Beluga, but it isn't even vaguely reminiscent of the good stuff. It has none of the deep sea flavor, just saltiness. There is no nutty, oily or other distinctive character. The whole point of eating caviar is to indulge in decadent, opulent deliciousness. This one doesn't deliver.New edit 4/17/17. The company generously sent me a complimentary can of the same caviar, and it was pretty good. It still lacked the deep sea flavor to which caviar aficionados are accustomed, but was other wise technically excellent. The real thing (beluga, which is now illegal in the US) has a strong ocean flavor, and can be served on Blini's or potatoes without losing its character. This modern, ecologically sustain-ably grown stuff is perfect in every way, except that it lacks the divine imperfections of flavor coming from fish grown in the wild, and probably polluted, waterways of the Caspian or Black seas. When served on a neutral platform, such as buttered white toast, it serves a a high quality modern analog to the caviar of the good old days. It is probably the best we can get today. Fish farming has taken over this market, for various political, economic and ideological reasons.

If you read below you'll see I was pretty upset when I opened the first tin and my family was pretty disappointed. Northern Divine read this review and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. They offered me a refund but asked if i could get a replacement tin instead. They called and sent me email and made it very personal.I opened the tin and the caviar looked wonderful, glistening and jewel-like. It certainly redeemed itself in terms of quality. This tin was far superior to the one we got last week.The only comment my family made was 'yum.'This is a very subtle tasting caviar, which is good. I had it on a toast point with a dollop of great local lebne (yogurt) and it was a fine treat.It will be an occasional treat for us and I might explore the companies other products.--------First review follows:Do NOT buy this. I was here when it arrived, put it right on the fridge and we ate it the next day.Mushy, flabby flavorless eggs.And it can't be returned if you've tasted it.Garbage.

beautifully packaged. The tiny perfectly round black roe glistened in the sunlight. texture crispy and fresh, taste subtle and friendly. Am going now to order more!!! No more supermarket caviar for us!

I found it to be pretty disappointing, especially for the cost.The flavor was fine, but the texture was far from firm, almost mushy.the package came in fine shapeI wouldn't buy it again:(

We ordered this for our Christmas party (2015) after we read so many great reviews and sure enough it is an excellent product!Express delivery with lots of ice packs to ensure the quality..It melt in your mouth with no fish smell and it had the perfect saltiness of the ocean..We fell in love with this caviar and we decided to make it our new Christmas tradition!If you want to splurge yourself - this is the way to go!

I have a few brands that i enjoy, i was attempting to branch out and try a few new brands.I ordered 17 different brands and types of caviar off Amazon. Most were disgusting poorly packed very old flavor. Mushy.I was actually scared to eat a couple ounces that i ordered.Northern Divine was heads and tales better than any other caviar I tried from amazon.Is it the best I've ever had? No, but it's the best on amazon as far as I've come across.
