Manchester Terrier: Special Limited Edition (CompanionHouse Books) A Kennel Club Book

I took a chance buying this book with no reviews or information as to what kind of content was in it. It has beautiful pictures, mostly "standard" size and the information and advise is wonderful. Gives you the basics plus other important things to look for when buying a puppy and training a puppy and just the breed itself (history, temperaments, etc...). So glad I got this book so much good stuff in it. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to buy a Manchester Terrier (puppy or adult). (*****5 stars)

Loved this book. It is very informative on all aspects of the Manchester Terrier.

I am about to become the owner of a Manchester Terrier, and I anticipate that I will be referring to this guide periodically for the information I need about this breed. Of the few books I've seen about this breed specifically, this one appears to be the most complete. The copy I ordered was used but in very good condition.

It did give good background on basis of the breed. The rest of the info while good was generic dog info.

I have been doing some research on a variety of dogs trying to make a decision on which to purchase.After several books on various types, this book helped me to make the decision that the Manchester Terrieris the right dog for me.

Der Manchester Terrier ist hierzulande eine nahezu unbekannte Rasse, ebenfalls steht er in seinem Heimatland England auf der Liste der vom Aussterben bedrohten Rassen. Demzufolge die die Infos über ihn spärlich. Ebenso ist er kein "Mini-Dobermann", wie viele meinen (auch wenn er so aussieht), sondern ein Hund mit außergewöhnlicher Persönlichkeit: Eigener Wille ("Dickschädel") gepaart mit Fröhlichkeit und Lebendigkeit, aber auch sehr großer Sensibilität ist eine seltene Mischung, die häufig eine "eiserne Hand im Samthandschuh" verlangt.Froh bin ich über dieses Buch, weil es detaillierte Einblicke in diese Rasse gibt, was Welpentraining, Erziehung (und zwar vom Welpen bis zum alten Hund), Ernährung etc. bietet. Der Manchester Terrier gilt als sehr intelligent, lernfreudig und arbeitsam und lässt sich für vieles einsetzen, z.B. auch Obedience. Auch hier liefert das Buch interessante Vorschläge und Tipps.
