Once upon a Time: Out of the Past Hardcover – January 1, 2015

This is a great collection of stories, far more true to the spirit of the show than the novel, Shadow of the Queen. The Rumbelle story was a welcome relief from this season's rather exaggerated attempts to display Rumplestiltskin as an out on out villain despite his much more prominent "anti-hero" role in previous seasons. The true centerpiece of course is the story of Jefferson, Wonderland's Mad Hatter, and the reveal of his past. Despite the rather lackluster Captain Hook story in the beginning, I can honestly say this is a treat for Once fans old and new.

As a self-confessed fan of fairy tales and comics, Marvel’s Once Upon a Time series has been a treat (Check out my review of the first book, Once Upon a Time Shadow of the Queen here), so when I heard about the second book in the series coming out, I knew I needed to pick it up.Once Upon a Time: Out of the Past contains four chapters, each following four different characters from the television series. Captain Hook, Belle and Rumplestiltskin, the Evil Queen and the Mad Hatter are the featured characters in each of the chapters. Each of them are captured at a critical period of their experiences, that shape them into the characters we know (and sometimes love) through the tv show today.One of my favorite stories featured Captain Killian Hook. I love seeing Killian as a multifaceted character, especially on the Jolly Roger. He has a great rapport with his first mate, and it was hard to make the decision he had to make—but it was done in a believeable manner.One of my least favorite stories was the one featuring the Hatter. I loved the CONCEPT of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, but I felt like the series missed the mark—and it was cancelled within the first season. While I feel like the writers and artists did well within the Hatter story in this, I wish they would have picked someone else to feature. There is no problem with the execution of the story.The hardcover volume contains a fully-covered dust jacket. Underneath the jacket is a really nice book, similar to Henry’s storybook featured in the tv show. There was a great bonus section featuring costumes and concept art.

the book was delivered in excellent quality in the time frame that was advertised. I was very pleased with the speedy arrival and condition of my delivery, as well as the content. The book is artfully illustrated and tastefully written-it was all I had hoped for and more.

Probably the coolest cover for a book I have ever seen. I haven't read it yet, but if the story is anywhere as magical as the artwork on the cover, I'm sure it will be good. 10/10 would judge a book by it's cover again.

I bought this during off season when the show wasn't on TV. I was a good OUAT fix. It's maybe the 2nd graphic/comic book I've ever bought, the first being Asterix. I enjoyed it, although I'm not very familiar with the genre.

Best story in it is Hook's. Well done graphic novel.

Alô, alô fãs de Once Upon a Time! Essa HQ é maravilhosa demais, super bem ilustrada e incrível em seus detalhes! A história faz uma ponte interessantíssima com a série e vale demais ler, mesmo sendo em inglês <3

I have received my book today May 25th and I thought it was a actually book about the Movie and Cast but it turns out to be a Graphic Novel which is really cool thank you :)

I waited this book for a while and I can say that I am really glad. We see some parts of the characters that we do not see in the tv show.
