Excellent value and a nice backpack
For about £21, this is an excellent 45l backpack. It has its limitations - such as not being 100% waterproof - and I wouldn't want to depend on it in extreme conditions. However, for regular daily use, even with heavy loads, it is brilliant. It arrived in a deceptively small package. However, once unfolded, I discovered it has lots of space and appears well made with quality YKK zips. I am 2m tall but the padded shoulder straps are comfortable and the chest and waist straps more than adequate. There is plenty of space and adequate protective padding for my 17" laptop. Clothes and books are accommodated with ease. The main compartment is huge and there are plenty of other pockets and compartments for bits and bobs - including a secure 'secret' compartment at the rear. I have used it on a daily basis for a few weeks and on a couple of occasions for weekends away. It shows no signs of wear despite all of my abuse! I have also used it in continual drizzle and the odd shower but the contents have remained bone dry. So, thus far, I am very pleased. If I have a gripe, IMHO, its the unnecessarily large logo on the top pocket. I had an embroidered union flag patch available that was millimetre perfect to cover things up. The sewing was a tad tricky but I am rather chuffed with the results (see photos). However, its a matter of personal taste and in any case, this backpack remains, an excellent buy.

Looks like a good pack
I have not had a chance to use this backpack yet, but having a look over the bag it appears to be well made. There are no loose strands on stitching and all the straps work as they should. The zips go up and down with no issues and it has the advantage of an internal hook and pocket for a hydration bladder. The one negative thing so far for me which may have an impact on the integrity of the backpack is how it was folded for shipping. Instead of folding it length ways it was folded in half where the back support is, which meant that the bag is now out of shape with a crease through the back support. I’m sure once the bag is loaded it will straighten out. But I will not know until I’ve tested it. This is the reason I did not give it 5 stars

Great for hiking!
I left packing late for my trip to the Tour Du Mont Blanc and found that I was struggling to put my kit into a 35L bag I had. Hence I purchased this rucksack. I'm happy to say that it survived the four day tour, where I was walking for on average about 7 hours per day with 10KG of weight in this pack. I was worried about staps tearing or zips breaking but it survived with no problems. The mesh holders on each side also managed to hold a wide 1L bottle with no problem too. The webbing on the front of the pack also proved to be most useful for securing other things (e.g. insulated jacket, fleece) when space was a little tighter due to carrying food. My back also managed to stay fairly cool due to the gap on the back of the pack. I guess it would have been nice if the hip straps were padded, but most packs this size dont seem to have these anyhow. I can recommend this sack if anyone is also thinking about using it for hiking.

Too long in the back
I got this for my 13 year old to go on a scouts expedition. Unfortunately it is too long in the back for him so it bunches up and sags away if he tries to use the waist band. It seems reasonably well made but we are returning it and going for a different style of bag which has a shorter gap between the shoulder straps and the waist band.

Good sized bag for cub scouts, lots of pockets.
TIP: Using the double body straps and tightening well does help to spread the weight of the bag. My daughter needed a rucksack for her first cub scout camp. We needed something big enough to fit all her gear in but also light enough for her to carry, as noone was going to carry her stuff. This bag was good value, a good size for her body, has lots of pockets and straps to hang things off. My daughter wanted pink but red was a decent conpromise we came to. She was excited by the dedicated headphone hole but the fact she wants allowed to bring any technology escaped her. The padding on the arms was sufficient although my daughter complained but that's just because she has never carried anything heavy before. So would have complained if it was a pillow. The bag came back from the camp in the same condition she left in although a little bit grubbier, from being thrown about and shoved into the back of a minbus., So a good sign as to its quality and longevity. A good purchase. If you liked my review, please consider to give me a helpful vote and maybe follow me for future reviews. Many thanks.

Seam burst on 3rd use.
UPDATE - Resolves with refund by manufacturer. This is the second one of these bags I have bought. I have had no issues with the other one. Bag is a good size and comfy. Bought for occasion use when I go hill walking with my son. Third use and the seam with zip has burst, bag was maybe 20% full. Amazon were not interested in helping me, I had to return the item for them to inspect, they would then consider giving me a refund to rebuy the item at a higher price. UPDATE - the manufacturer got in touch on the back of my review. They have offered me a new bag to refund. To clarify I am really happy with the other version of this bag, and apart from the burst I think this is a great bag. Updated from 1 to 3 star based on that.
