Practical. No fluff. Solid work.
This is a solid book serving a specific purpose - providing practical ways to increase one's creativity. I loved its concise format.Traditionally, I'll start from weaker spots, but there is a lot of good stuff as well, I'll elaborate on it further down.CONS1. Faulty science. At least in one case Som is quoting a research that was proven to be wrong. Willpower is a limited resource ONLY if you think it is.2. Self-help fallacy. It's so common in this genre- the author gives you a handful of clues saying what you need to do and assumes you are capable to do it. Many of the techniques mentioned in the book need mindfulness and mastery of your thought process that is not common. You are showered with good advice, but you are not able to put it into practice.PROS1. Concise format.I read this book in less than an hour. Admittedly, I read faster than most. Still, I liked that there was zero fluff in "Think Out of the Box" -some stories to keep you engaged and a lot of meaty content.2. Good writing.Of course, it's not Tolstoy, but Som's writing is better than most self-help authors. His writing skill doesn't stay in a way of his advice and vice versa. There are stories where they need to be. His points are clear. He often says not just what to do to be more creative, but how to apply those tips in your life.3. Regular practice. The author's emphasis on daily practice was very appealing to me. If you want to think out of the box, you need specific routines and disciplines. For every sudden "eureka moment" there are days of creativity exercises.4. Research and stories.I'm a nerd, so I like to read about behavioral research. The book was interesting and engaging for me.5. Applicable. All the methods instanced in "Think Out of the Box" can be incorporated into daily life and that's the ultimate goal, isn't it? If you can make those creativity routines a part of your day, you will become a more creative person. It will be part of your constitution, not the icing on the cake.SummaryThis book is not perfect, but it's perfect for its purpose. It's extremely practical and the methods enumerated in "Think Out of the Box" are applicable for common mortals.

Thinking and thought
Thinking what can or cannot be done. Or how it is. One train of thought is it works like this or that. Another train of thought to think in other ways.

Inspiring book, alternative view on innovation
I loved this book. I like how the author gives very actionable advice and at the same time explains the rational behind the ideas That helps the reader understand why he is giving specific advice and how following those steps will help generating out of the box thinking. He offers a different view on innovation than any other book I have read .I would definitely recommend this book .

Content ripped off from others then badly re-written
This book takes (steals?) content which is already well known in the subject area and repackages it under the author's name, usually without thanks or acknowledgement. So if you find you do want to extend your studies further this book won't help or give you directions. As an example, the book starts with a couple of "problems" familiar to readers of Edward De Bono's works. They are not credited to him and he is not referred to anywhere in the book. When it comes to the familiar 9 dot problem, the author doesn't go further to address the many the different solutions. All of that's bad enough, but the author's written english is poor, so his language grates and his message is garbled. You'll be better informed by looking elsewhere.

Bad grammar!
Great content but clearly English is a second language. Needed proof reading before publishing. The first half is really bad grammar - the second half mysteriously better

Very insightful
The author has given enormous techniques for us to tread on our journey of 'thinking outside the box', which quite seemed to be impossible for me before I went through these beautiful pages. All in all, this book is going to be of help to anybody willing to change their ways of thinking. For me personally, it has potentially changed the way I look at my problems, and my approach towards them. Much love and gratitude to the Author ❤

There are better books on the topic
Titke and topic seemed to be interesting, but I had to force myself throught the first 50 pages of the book. Sorry Som, but I recommend not to waste the time on reading any further. Old ideas I've read much better elsewhere, non convincing anecdotes and examples, study citations without references, lots of free space left and right to blow up some 100 standart page to a 160 pages booklet.
