Wonderful for shrimp colony!
So far we love it, it's very spacious for a shrimp colony. The waterfall spout is amazing, you can turn the flow up and down as you need as well as rotate the waterfall tube and have it point down or outwards. You can turn it as well to change where it's positioned. It was a tight fit getting the mesh and filter into the slot but it's great at keeping shrimp OUT because they like to explore EVERYWHERE. They even checked out the rock wall and forgot they're aquatic! A simple push back into the drink will suffice for this, they cannot be allowed to evolve further on land. The lights are sooo beautiful, 3 settings and multiple brightness levels. You can slide the light across the top to adjust, and set a timer with 3 timer options!

Great as a Betta or shrimp set up...
I waited to write this review for a while as I wanted to give the tank time to settle and mature biologically as I wanted it for shrimp... I cycled and matured it with one of my Betta's and he really liked sitting on the cave ledges... If this tank held 3-4 more gallons of water I would pick up 2-3 of them for Betta's, unfortunately it only holds 5-6gallons of water with the cave and substrate and stuff. I tend to keep my Betta's in a minimum of 10gallons with most being closer to 16+ gallons. It's just my own personal preference as I don't like doing water changes unless absolutely necessary lol. That said, this tank took a bit of learning as it developes algae at an alarming rate... I had massive amounts of algae the first month, that said I did have the light set at its brightest on the 12hr cycle while working on maturing the tank and I removed the carbon from the filter before setting the tank up as I feel like it cleans the water too much for shrimp and plants. At one point I even moved one of my smaller SAE's in to combat the hair algae. He wasn't happy being pulled from the 270gal tank, by himself and stuck in here with one of my slightly more aggressive Betta's but he was only in it a couple of weeks before the algae was mostly under control... It helped when I started putting hornwort and water spangles in to starve out most of the algae... The hornwort still ends up with hair algae growing all over it after about a month so I just swap that hornwort out with a clean piece from my big tank and the fish in the big tank clean off the covered one... I have found that the algae is controllable if the light is only set about half strength and the cycle on the shorter timer... I however am keeping it high for the shrimp that are now in it. I just threw in some random shrimp from other tanks to see how well they would do and they are thriving! My kids wanted a tank with shrimp of different colors mixed instead of my other tanks of all single colored shrimp. I put 10 in to start and a few baby pink ramshorn snails and all have been growing like crazy and keeping the tank clean. I rarely have to supplement feed with the settings how I have them. My only complaint, and the reason why I am only rating 4stars is how fast the water evaporates because there isn't any type of glass cover. I bought a piece of plexiglass and cut it to fit on the plastic clips made to hold glass lids for aquariums and it unfortunately keeps sagging down into the water, I turn it over and it slowly does it again. Not sure if its the light or the water making it happen. I need to make a metal frame for it or order a piece of glass measured to fit instead, so for now it is topless and needs about a gallons worth of topping off each week... I really wish they would develop and sell a lid for this tank... I would definitely get one, and another tank or 2 for more shrimp as well as I really like the look of it.

Nice but risky
The package arrived like you see in the first 3 pictures. There was no privacy wrapping, the world knew exactly what I was receiving and it was left on the front porch. There was absolutely no regard for the obviously delicate package, as you can see the box was dented and penetrated all in attempt to damage or completely destroy the aquarium inside. The only damage to the aquarium was the same damage as another customer's review said, as if I received that damaged returned product! This aquarium is not worth the $119 I paid for it due to the damage. There's a crack in the bottom, and chipped at the top.The side of the tank has black tape on it. The back is completely blacked out so you can not get a light installed down there outside of the tank like modern aquarium lighting. But the mountainous upper background really attracted me to purchase this highly recommended brand (Hygger) aquarium. The top light made the aquarium seem like I was watching the tankmates in HD!The beveled glass in front was a really nice touch. The glass is fairly thick for a nano tank (see pictures). The filtration system is just as advertised, and easy to put together. But the filtration system is difficult to take apart without breaking the tiny piece of the box trap (the latch which keeps the door closed) to change the carbon. It already had carbon in it, I just wanted to get a feel of what was in store when it's time to change the carbon. It already had a black sponge filter in it as well. The pipes where the water comes out of the filter giving the waterfall effect, was not easy to adjust or twist into the desired direction. So turn it the way you want it to stay! The pipe also easily clogged. There's no lid on the aquarium. So, I had to make one so my frogs wouldn't keep getting out.The tank did not come with a air pump, thermostat, gravel, heater, or plants. The light was so awesome I just had to write a review. The lightbpad is easy to use, there's a timer, click one time for each of the 3 modes and click a 4th time to exit clock options. The day and night modes have 3 different levels of intensity. The lowest level of the night light option is soft enough for your mate to sleep while you enjoy the view. I would highly recommend you purchase the light even if you don't get the aquarium.I'm very sorry that the integrity of the brand is soured by the damages of this nano tank.If I could suggest a few changes, I would have the package delivered with privacy wrapping, check for cracks and chips, remove the blackout tape so the aquarium can get more light like the last picture of a different tank (more ambiance) with modern lights, make the holes a little bigger on the filtration system pipes for a unrestricted water flow as a waterfall, give directions as to how to open the carbon drawer on the filtration system (there was no directions), make the filtration system longer to reached the bottom of the aquarium for longer lasting clean (I had a second sponge on the airtube for more clear and clean water), and put the light 1" to 2" higher so the residue from the bubbles can not dirty the light. This nano tank could have easily been a 5 star review, if it was not damaged. There's a black thin layer of styrofoam glued to the bottom, which was also a really nice touch.I am interested in knowing what other aquariums they offer. I normally, for 20+ yrs., get my aquariums custom made for reliability purposes. I love aquariums but hate leaks! I regret that I could not depend on the workmanship of this aquarium.During Covid19 there's no one available with Amazon to report these things to. So if you want this item, you'll need aquarium seal, and you'll have to do some work to the glass make it work for you. You can still make this into a planted tank despite the blackout tape.I would recommend this to an advanced hobbyist who will not mind working hard to deal the aquarium properly. This may not be ideal for immediate use.I hope this information was helpful.
