High quality
I never needed this because Ford made high-quality reusable gaskets from the get go but I bought it just in case. Would be totally comfortable using this

Fit my 1997 F150 perfectly
I liked the quality of the gasket and its internal metal support which keeps you from over tightening the bolts. Even though not required, I hedged my bets against leaks by using Permatex brand “Right Stuff” 90 minute RTV on both sides of the gasket. With all surfaces perfectly clean (I use lacquer thinner), I can say that the pan is completely dry after 500 miles in Texas heat. Kudos to the manufacturer of this gasket.

quality reusable gasket
I read some reviews of this transmission pan gasket before I bought it. One said that 2 of the bolt holes didn't line up. I guess that put the thought in my head and it stuck. I also thought the same thing when I tried to use it, I found 2 of the bolt holes didn't seem to align. I almost returned it when a friend mentioned to turn it over and try it. It fit perfectly. I ended up reusing the original gasket, but am keeping this one as a spare. Not sure I will need it, but I bought it with the intent of using it, and it is a quality product at a good price.

Search my plan does not leak.
Deciding fits properly and if all bolts are tightened down in the proper sequence and according to manufacturies spec you will have no leaks from your transmission pan.

Great for a FORD AODE, will not fit an AOD
I ordered this by mistake thinking it would fit a Ford AOD transmission. Unfortunately it only fits the AODE. They are very similar but one bolt hole doesn't line up and one corner has too tight of a radius. It's really too bad, I cannot find this style of gasket for the AOD anywhere. I've battled leaks forever and was hoping I found a solution. The reason I give it 5 stars is because for an actual AODE, this is a great choice. I have a gasket of the same style on a 2001 Jeep and it has never leaked and I've had the pan off several times.

great oem replacement
My F150 is now 12 years old and I finally got my hands on a new oil pan with drain plug built in. Since the truck is getting up there in age I decided to go ahead and replace the seal when I pulled the pan. The OEM seal is identical to this one and I've pulled the pan 3 times in the trucks life to change filters and the seal never leaked. I hope to get another 12 years from this new seal too.
