It's amazing!!!!
Some people might not be impressed with this sort of thing but I am. I'm going around sticking it to everything in sight to see what kind of sound I'm getting out of things. Sure it's not the greatest quality audio on the planet but if you expect that from something like this that only costs twenty bucks then that's your fault. It's not hifi of super awesome quality sound but it's enough to listen to stuff without too many complaints. I've found it works best on cardboard boxes, it works great on the box that amazon shipped it in. Cardboard boxes are the loudest and best quality audio you can get out of this thing but you can stick it on other stuff and get really interesting effects from different materials, some thin metals give off this really crazy reverb like effect. Really it's a lot of fun to play around with but I do think there are some practical applications for it, for myself at work will be where I get the most use out of it so I don't have to listen to the stupid music on the radio anymore.

Easy to use, fun to play with
Is this a high end sound system? no, if you want that spend hundreds of dollars on a portable bose system. What this is a a fun, innovative, and useful product. When I first received it we spent hours passing it around, sticking it on anything around to see what kind of sound it would make. Found it works really well on Hollow Core doors, Windows, different sounds on different boxes, cooler, garage doors, Styrofoam pieces, and all kinds of miscellaneous items.. That was just the first night. The next night we were headed out camping out in the back acreage, so we settled on a box that amplified and produced decent sound. When my uncle showed up, he drove back to the house and returned with a load of other items he wanted to try! Since then my neighbors have tried (Turns out it works really well and sounds fantastic stuck to the back of a motorcycle helmet with the helmet on)and most I know have bought one for themselves. The sound output really does depend on the type of music, and the object you stick it to, and where you stick it at on the item. Now we use a Styrofoam cooler on it's side when we camp, which serves as a good speaker, and has the added bonus of protecting the speaker and the MP3 player or phone.I highly recommend this unit for background music or general indoor or out door travel. in addition your friends will love it and play with it also!

Works, decent sound, difficult to keep stuck to things.
I bought one of these speakers for work where speakers and chords tend to get in the way but hollow objects are in abundance. I immediately tested it on anything with arms reach. I found that the sound was of pretty decent quality on quite a few items such as large water bottles and cardboard boxes. Metal containers obviously had pretty bad and tinny sound. My only complaint is the sticky pads which wear out quickly and don't stick to surfaces. I've gone through 2 of the included 3 in only a few days. Once I find an alternative Everything should be good to go.

rock-it 2.0
This is the neatest little speaker I've ever seen!! I seen several comments about how bad it is and its not loud enough, are you kidding me? How loud did you expect it to be, honestly. It uses the vibration off of anything to play sound/music, and depending on what u put it on, it actually sounds pretty good considering. Also it is really fun to just go around finding different objects to try it on and to hear the difference in the sound for the different things. I got 2 of these to give to my 11 and 12 year old boys for christmas, to go with their ipods, and they are going to love them!! Great gift for pre-teens, as well as teens!!

An interesting idea but poor execution, wasted my money
The idea that you can make anything a speaker has great appeal to me as I travel a lot and like to listen to music. So I thought that the Rock-IT would be a small device for getting bigger sound. In my experience it turned out to be more of a bunch of plastic that looks interesting but fails to deliver. I tried the device out on different surfaces, including a parabolic metal lamp shade and failed to get any real sounds, none of which were half as good as my old GE pocket transistor AM radio I got when I was a kid. I know that comment dates me, but i cannot recommend this device as anything more than a novelty as its an interesting idea that just does not work, or at least did not work for me.

Fun concept, but barely useable in practice
When people say the sound quality isn't amazing it turns out what they really mean is it's awful. It's a fun concept but in practice it just doesn't work very well. Sound is tinny and distorted - I had the best results from attaching it to the back of my laptop's screen but even then it wasn't very good. I needed something because my computer speakers stopped working and this product gives tolerable sound quality for watching a TV show or my yoga videos, but it's pretty awful for music. And please bear in mind, I'm not rating it on a high standard - some people here are saying things like "You can't expect it to be super-high-fidelity" -- true, but I can expect it to be at least tolerably OK. It's not. Sure, maybe at its best it's on par with SOME cheaper USB speakers, but those cheap USB speakers have only one cord, this has three (USB for power, audio cable, and long cord attaching the "microphone" to an object - not to mention the main box - as large as a square coaster and thicker than my smartphone) - it's all bulky and unwieldy.Maybe a neato-gimmick for a kid, but even they would get tired of it soon, I think.

Love It!!!
I purchased this product for my husband for Father's Day. When it arrived I was so excited about it I gave it to him early... basically so that I could play with it too. I attached it to the box it was packaged in and it worked great. I then unplugged it from my phone to compare the volume to the speakers on my phone (the source of the music), not even close. I tried it on the Amazon box that it arrived in, it was even louder. I then put it on a lamp shade, awesome. The best one was when I attached it a door. I had to pull it off quickly because it was so loud I though it would wake up my two sleeping children. I'm so happy with it, I'm ordering another one so that I can keep in my classroom. I've only had it for one day and I hope the quality remains the same. Great Product!! Absolutely LOVE IT!!

It's like a whole new game
This speaker is marvellous. You can spend ages listening to music; or spend ages finding places to put the speaker. I find that wooden cupboards work well, as well as microwave ovens. I have no quarrels with the sticky pad on the product as three are supplied and they can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Just put some batteries in, put the speaker pad on a hollow, flat surface and plug it into your iPhone to enjoy good quality music.

Cool gadget to play around with. Not suitable for listening long term. Not suitable for dusty areas
The speakers were delivered in time and sound great. It's a good geeky gift for people. As expected, it cannot beat the JBL bluetooths in sound obviously and the quality of audio produced through vibration is not that good as well. So, it cannot be used for actually "listening to music". It definitely is a cool item to keep around and show-off. Also the speaker sticks itself onto surfaces with a double sided tape(2 extras provided in the box), but I live in Bangalore and it took 20mins before the glue started wearing off because of dust.. Wiping it with water doesn't help as those videos in youtube probably haven't seen the amount of pollution and fine dust as we have here.

I'll start by saying that it's a great idea! But looks far more exciting than it ...
I'll start by saying that it's a great idea ! But looks far more exciting than it really is.Not loud enough at all and plays mainly on plastic items. I've used it twice since I bought it, and haven't wanted to use it again.
