Very nice but...
This iPad case / keyboard is a very highly rated product among its competitors, and that was the reason I selected it over the others. The quality is excellent and the fit is perfect. The keyboard does pair up with the iPad pretty quick, but you do have to go through the pairing process each time you use the keyboard. My only real disappointment with this product is the keyboard itself. The keys are completely flat (no indentations) and closely spaced. This results in a lot of "double hits" when using the keyboard, especially if you have large hands, which I do. Other than that, I'm happy with it.

Works great, right out of the box!
I had wasted my money on a different, somewhat less expensive keyboard. It was a piece of junk, with half the keys not working. So...I was a little apprehensive when the iLuv arrived, even though the reviews had been good. It works great. The keyboard feels solid. Sure, the keys are small, kind of the point when matching the size of an iPad. However, it's a lot easier to type more quickly on this keyboard than the iPad's keyboard. I like the smartkeys. The case looks great too. Well done.

Good product
The iLuv iPad 2 case is composed of two parts, the iPad cover and the detachable keyboard. When I took the case out of the packaging what stroke me first was the weight and the smell. The smell dissipates after a while. The case is quite heavy. That is expected for the keyboard part, considered what it does. But the cover is heavier than I thought. It does seem very sturdy and well put together though. It has a cutout for both cameras and a hole for the cable and the buttons. There is a soft material where the cover touches the front of the iPad. I dislike the metal iLuv buckle which adds to the weight and not to the looks. The display has a single position, and you will need a hard surface for support. On the right of the keyboard there is an On / Off switch, a charging cable plug and a pairing button which also serves as pairing / charging light. The instructions say to charge the keyboard for three hours before use. Pairing with a computer or an iPad is easy. It shows as "Bluetooth Keyboard" in Bluetooth settings and you have to enter a numeric passcode followed by Enter, after which you can use it straight away.I tested the keyboard with my Mac and it works perfectly. There is a row of function keys at the top, and next to the space bar you have the Fn, Control, Option and Command keys so it is a complete computer keyboard. I was surprised that Mac key combinations work with the iPad, for example: Option-E E gives é, Option-Shift-K gives the apple character ' etc. Unfortunately there is no forward delete on the iPad. The closest you get is Control-K which deletes everything up to the end of the line. There are a few iPad-specific keys in the top row: Home, Search, Lock, Soft keyboard, Rewind, Play / Pause, Forward, Mute, Volume down and Volume up. You can unlock the iPad by pressing the Lock key and typing the password in. The play and volume keys also work with a Mac.The keys are almost full size, but they are packed so close together that it is difficult to tell where a key ends. When I started using it I always pressed two keys for one. After a while I was able to type almost normally. The keys have a decent travel, specially considered the dimensions and the weight of the keyboard. The layout is just OK. Most keys fall at the right place under my fingers, except for a few: the right shift key is much too small, I always press the top arrow instead / as well. The End and Home key, which seem to have no effect on the iPad, are at weird locations. The left Caps Lock, Shift and Fn keys are larger than they need. On a more positive note there is a good palm rest area with no hard angles. To conclude I think that is a good buy if you are going to type at some length on your iPad. It is much more comfortable than the soft keyboard of the iPad. In addition, the keyboard can be detached if you just want the cover with you or if you want to use the keyboard with a computer or another device.I found that the price on Amazon UK is excessive but the US price is reasonable for the quality.

Disappointed
The case quality and design is excellent but the keyboard is poorly designed. Keys pop off repeatedly and are spaced too close togther without being adequately raised making typing extremely difficult. It is far easier to type on the screen than on this keyboard. I wrote to the manfacturer about their design flaw with recommendations for improving it but they ignored my suggestions and just sent me the lost key which in 3 days since replacing it has already fallen off again. I guess I'll have to look for a better designed replacement

ILuv Case for Ipad - good product
This is an excellent case and keyboard. We were able to sync the keyboard quicly and easily. I like that the case seems to give some decent protection from bumps and drops, and some padding. As noted in one of the other reviews, the metal stand clip can be bent if not released properly - that happened once for use when my daughter was using it. I was able to bend it back with pliers and now it is good as new. Just being aware of how to release the clip without bending should take care of that issue. The case allows the Ipad to work like a netbook....the stand makes it fairly stable and the keyboard has been responsive. Some of the other reviews noted a strong vinal smell coming from the case after it was opened. We noticed nothing like this. I don't know if they have changed the way the produce or package it, but there was not smell for us. We purchased this for a good price on Amazon. I would recommend it. I see other cases that are much more expensive. This one works well!

Don't bother
I ordered this iPad keyboard case thinking that I'd researched the choices well. Unfortunately, this was quite a disappointment. The keyboard is nearly impossible for me to use and I find the prop on the back of the case intended to hold up the iPad user unfriendly. I've since purchased a Kensington product and that's definitely the direction I would point everyone who's searching for a way to turn their iPad into a laptop replacement. The one nice thing I can say is that it seems well constructed.

DO NOT BUY this...
Not usable the keys are so close together you can't type. I would not recommend this to anyone.
