Fits like a glove!
They fit exactly as expected! Seeing the visible adhesive made me reluctant to purchase, but I figured they're the most well-priced for the size I decided upon. Upon purchase, the adhesive was hardly noticeable and the shoes fit perfectly. I felt agile and dextrous wearing these and got tons of fun and mixed comments from friends and colleagues. I got mud on them and threw them in the wash with some other shoes and they washed well! (Do be careful with hot water washing because that could undo the adhesive) They work with regular socks, but its recommended that you purchase some split-toe socks as well. The only thing that took some getting used to is "tying" the shoes. They come on with a row of plastic tabs that insert into fabric loop-holes, after a few times wearing them, you quickly learn how to get them on in a more secure fashion. An excellent purchase! Equally novel, comfortable, fashionable, and durable!

It is not a perfect boot but it is the best thing out there without going custom.
They fit somewhat small so order 2 sizes bigger because they also shrink a lot in the washer. (and yes, I'm letting them air dry.)I'm an Bujinkan instructor so I use these regularly and find that although they are not a perfect boot, it is the best item of this type on the market. The laces have three different straps to adjust to your calf and the bottom of the boots give you just enough protection from the pavement and still provide that bare feet feel. I have bought these over 7 times since I go through them so much. the most common breakdown is that the cloth begins to detach from the sole. Some of my students have ordered these leather tabi custom made but that is disgusting in how much they smell, so I prefer these that I can just toss in the washer.Bottom line. This is a good boot, the best one out there and although durability could be better, I do strennous training 4 times a week so I guess it earns it's pay.

Sturdy, well fit, a good purchase for people who go through several pair a year!
I find the wearing of these type of shoes (Tabi) are pretty good - mostly in training for Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu class -. I am impressed that these actually fit the ankle/Achilles tendon area well (normally with the Velcro ones it can be baggy). This is partially due to the tabs that have 3 or 4 rows for varying tightness. I have very strong calves and the ability to adjust the tightness around the ankle and yet widen it for the calf is VERY NICE. I'm not super crazy about the rubber soles, but I couldn't find the flat bumpy bottom style in stock. I can see me using these for quite a while. The seams are double stitched and not coming loose after a week or two of training, so I'm feeling pretty good about that.AS ALWAYS - I highly recommend taking the insole out of an old pair of shoes, stepping on it, and then tracing and cutting out the shape of the tabi. Once placed inside the tabi, it seems to make the wearing of these significantly more comfortable for longer periods of time. On other tabi (especially the soft indoor type) they can slide and roll on you... placing an insole inside seems to lock it into place, and you do not lose any feeling with the ground- as long as it's a soft insole... but outside, rocks and sticks are WAY LESS problematic when running and jumping! These aren't the HIGHEST quality outdoor tabi because of the style of outer sole, but, they'll do for quite a long time. All in all, I'd say I am very pleasantly surprised with the quality, the speed of arrival, fit and comfort of these tabi. I still would not recommend using them indoors because the rubber soles are quite grippy... especially noticed while applying ashi sabaki during techniques!

A Boot Built for practical Combat
To a person who operates under the cover of darkness of night in real time operations like myself. These jikatabi are acceptable. They are very well built and made accordingly and I wear US Size 11.For me, I have been rock climbing, submerged operations, wooded operations, I have preformed damaging parkour/free-running with them, as well as combat training and they stand up to it all. When I got them I was hoping for the long boot as I had before but got the high top. I was very impressed with the rienforced stitching and inner cotton sole. The hooks are very good, and the loops are a single black string sewed every 1/4th of an inch so the hooks can fasten securely. They are a hook and look design like found on basic dress pants hook and look front closure. They are as silent as a calm mist, and have a grip the suns hold on the earth. They are very flexible and are capable of being folded and placed in a large pocket. The toes look to be glued on, but don't let that scare you, mine have been under water, on rocks, walls and have been slamed against a tree during kicks as well as other harsh treatments. They were submerged for a period of two hours before I broke land again, the outside was ruined in in color not in quality. After what I put them through I give them a military grade. Navy seals at times use dive suit boots. These are made for one purpose, Practical Use, like a Soldier to his M-16, when you get these do fear the wild, they will not let you down.

Squeak squeak squeak!
Fit better then expected, I tend to be a larger 11, but this adjust well and no really issues getting them on.Unfortunately they super sneaky on hard surfaces, like incredible loud. Not sure what is up with that (my old Tabi had no such issue). Mostly for outdoor use but still... something odd with the material maybe? To much moister in the rubber?
