Great read
I thought I had read everything Judith had written until I stumbled upon this book. I laughed, cried and felt the strong emotions both Ramon and Katie possessed.I wished their story kept on when the final page was read. That is a sign of a good book when you want more.Thank you for writing this story.Becky

4 and 1/2 stars--another great read by McNaught!
Unlike other reviewers, I loved this book. It may not be as good as Paradise or Perfect, two of my favorite modern romances by McNaught, but I throughly enjoyed it. Ramon is a strong, handsome self made man of Spanish origins who wasborn in Puerto Rico but educated at Harvard and who has become a successful international businessman whose company is based in St. Louis. His father, jealous of his son's many accomplishments, decides to leave Ramon no corporate legacy--not even Ramon's own wealth--on his way out of this world. Ramon returns from months in Europe to find he has nothing and decides to go back to his roots in rural Puerto Rico. But before he does, he meets Katie, a beautiful blue-eyed, dark red haired young woman on her way up who has been wronged by an abusive first husband. Each is hiding something from the other but a passionate love overtakes them. While the story may be simple, the way McNaught tells it draws you into another culture and another world is quite wonderful. I loved Ramon's consistency and his smooth, subtle intelligence. He's a man you can love. And Katie is a sincere authentic wit who like many of us is held back by the disappointments and failures we have experienced. But this is a story about second chances and coming back from the bottom I found encouraging. And it is a good sexy read!

Spellbinding romance
Any book by Judith McNaught is a good read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. This book was an absolute pleasure to read from beginning to end. It was splendidly crafted with engaging characters and expertly evoked contemporary settings. I could not put this book down.

Everything one could expect from Judith McNaught!
I can't count how many times I have re-read Judith Mcnaught's work. She weaves stories that make it hard to put the book down. I can't qait for her next book (not the re-write of Double Exposure - already read it...but a new story).
