You could certainly use a spiral bulb in one and a heat lamp in the other, or you could install a third light of your choice for UVB.

Roughly 23." The PVC material the cage is made from is roughly 1/2" thick (I didn't measure it, but that's close). So double that for the bottom and the top pieces, inner dimension is very close to 23."

We are unable to recommend materials but any heat insulator will do. You are trying to make sure the roof of the enclosure does not heat up enough for the fixture to fall off into the tank. CHE heat in a different way than regular bulbs and the fixture gets very hot. As for under tank heaters, we have seen no issues with using those or radiant heat panels. Customer support
