This bag looks great. So far it fits exactly what I was looking for. The number of storage compartments was surprising, and I am very happy with the purchase.

I've been looking for a better meal prep bag to take to work with me. All the other bags I looked at are a single compartment, with a pocket or two on the sides - not great for organization. I like to keep my different food items in my meal plan separated until I eat them. It helps keep them fresh and tasting better, which in turn makes it easier to stick to my meal plan. But I also wanted the organization of a traditional backpack. I was just about to give up when I found this and decided to give it a shot.So far, this has been my best fitness/meal plan related purchase this year. The cooler compartment and included ice packs work great for keeping my food fresh throughout a 12 hour shift at work. The top portion and laptop sleeve allow me to have the organization of a regular backpack.There's only one thing I would change. On the top side pocket that has the USB port/cable built into it, there should be a port that allows me to pass a USB cable through the small side pocket into the main compartment at the top. As it is, the side pocket is so small I can only fit my smallest battery bank into it, and that one is so small it won't even fully charge my phone. If they added a port to pass a USB cable through into the main compartment, I could just put whatever size battery bank I wanted in there. If they made this one change, this would be the ultimate meal prep backpack.

I use this mainly for work. The caintainers are great but may bend a little when microwaved, bit this is not a problem if you press down firmly and close the sides first. I like to address the bad reviews and I'll say that the reason the zippers are failing is most likely due to the fact that you're not using the bag for what it's intended for. This is not a workers bag for heavy tools, a school bag for heavy books, or even a serious gym item bag. This is for meal prepping and carrying your basic gym or other fitness inspired items and that's it. It has two drink pouches for example, one for the protein shake and the other can be for an energy drink or a post recovery drink. So this bag hits the mark.

This is my preliminary review of the 519 Fitness Meal Management Backpack. I was a bit nervous ordering this bag without any reviews to read. However, I have tried all the "big name" bags in the meal management field and have been very disappointed with quality vs cost. IsoBag has a very poor design with their backpack with their meal storage area collapsing when putting minimal gear in the upper compartment. Their customer service was the ABSOLUTE WORST. I liked the 6 Pack Fitness Expedition 500 but I had 3 zippers break in 1 1/2 years which made the bag useless. I wasn't going to pay that price again. I did a search and found this bag and took a chance. I was so pleasantly surprised when I unpacked this bag to see the quality. The zippers were smooth, the material feels heavy duty, the stitching looks good, the carry straps looks durable...and the BIG thing...The design was FAR superior to Isobag's...very similar to 6 Pack Fitness...but at a quarter of the cost. I have only used the bag a few days but so far I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase. I will update my review as time goes on but so far I can highly recommend this bag...FYI...I purchased this bag with my own money and haven't written many reviews.

On my first day out, it seems like it's well made. Lots of pockets and room for all of my items. My food stayed nice and cold. Comfortable, durable design. I don't know what the pocket on the very bottom is for though...

On the first day of use, one of the walls to one of the top pockets ripped (Picture 1). It wasn't overstuffed. I thought, "Okay, I will just cut that material out to make one big compartment." On the third day of use, which is today, the end of the large compartment zipper either ripped out, or it was never properly secured, and the zipper fell off, and it is lost. So now there is only one zipper on that compartment. This backpack not only has additional useless pockets, but everything on it seems to be very poorly constructed. The two little ice packs they give you are a waste of material, and the bag is WAY overpriced, by about 80%. I would not recommend this bag to anyone. Its only worth about $20.00. I will have to buy another new bag because I don't know if this one will even last another couple of weeks. Hopefully it lasts until I can get different one. But it won't be this brand.

I just received it today about 20 minutes ago. I immediately opened to check contents and found that I received all items that were listed as promised without any cracks or damages. The pictures on Amazon just does not do it's justice. There is so much space. I am an amateur bodybuilder, full time nursing student, and hold down a full-time job. I wanted something that would leave me with no excuse to deviate from my assigned diet while also being able to carry around my laptop and textbooks for school. was looking for something like this for a long time. The compartments are so much bigger in person than they seem in the picture. The quality of the material is fairly sturdy. The only issues I had is that I would change the straps. They feel a little flimsy but I am sure that with a little tweaking It will be fine. Initially my delivery date got pushed back a day for whatever reason which isn't that huge of a deal aside from the fact that I am very impatient, but received it the very next day bright and early in the morning. If you are a serious bodybuilder or even a beginner this bag is perfect! I highly recommend and will be buying from Five One Nine Fitness again!
