Standard Motor Products AC170 Idle Air Control Valve

I ordered this more expensive part than the Chinese brand ( this is made in Mexico) thinking I would get a higher quality part. The body itself looks okay, tis small plastic snorkel looking vent on the top was installed wrong and at such an angle I had to swing it around to be level with the IAC. It almost snapped off. Without rotating this it would have bottomed out against the throttle body when tightening. After install it still was not my idle issue. It still surges and won't drop below 800 rpm. This was on a 1999 Mustang GT with the aftermarket BBK 78MM throttle body. I'd stick to Motorcraft next time. If this doesn't eventually " learn" itself into a proper idle it'll be going back.

This thing was a miracle! My Ford Thunderbird made a ship horn noise for the last two years, getting progressively louder and more often. It was so embarrassing in the parking garage at work because it echoed! My bf saw a YouTube video of people changing this part and it fixed it. The exact same part from Ford is $92. This was an instant fix!

Worked on my 2001 mustang GT!Very easy to install just unscrew the bolts, unclip the attachments, clean up the intake holes, put on the gasket that came with this part and put everyyhing back on and no more engine idling! Plus its a lot cheaper than other parts store!

I bought and installed this a couple months ago for my 2001 Ford Mustang GT when I was having issues with RPM instability while idling. So far, no problems and it has worked as expected. Especially with the vented IAC's, it's best to replace them instead of attempting to clean them, so this part was a good solution for my vehicle.
