Can anyone verify that their clock mechanism is still working after a year?

Yes, mine is still working. The trick is to use the wheel on the back of the clock and not try to adjust using the hands.

Do you have a mechanism with a 2” shaft. I need it to go through something that’s about 1.5” thick

I think they just have a standard size but I bet you could get creative and create an extension of some sort.
