LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia New Edition: with Exclusive Darth Maul Minifigure

Missing tons of characters and “Star variants” A TON! Very disappointing. The first LEGO Star Wars character encyclopedia that came out in 2011 advertised over 300 figures, and this one advertises over 200... 9 years later and 5 more movies later, and 100 less figures. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Could have been great, but somewhat disappointing. New? Updated? Missing Knights of Ren, Zorii Bliss, and all “Mandalorian” characters. NO original phase 1 clone trooper, clone wars senator Palpatine, Senate Guards, Jek, anything from Yoda Chronicles, multiple R2 units, Rebel bomber pilots / gunner, Hoth troopers, etc, etc. Far from complete or comprehensive. DK should consult a panel of AFOLs before publishing.

This updated character encyclopedia is a nice addition any LEGO fan, LEGO Star Wars fan, or plain Star Wars fan. Although I would recommend also having the previous edition; this is because this editions only includes the LEGO minifigures that currently fall into canon, it removed all the ones that have been removed from canon such as sets belonging to Old Republic and Force Unleashed. It does add newer sets up to the point that it was being creating (I assume), since it does not have the sets that came out to about half a year before its publication.The exclusive Darth Maul minifigure is different from the ones that have come in regular sets, making it a nice addition to a collection.I still recommend it, both for it's content and minifigure, it is a shame the removed non-canon minifigures, but that does not remove from its quality.

The book itself is just a copy and pasted version of the 2015 book but they actually removed all the legend and old republic stuff and replaced it with the sequel and solo story movies. They also managed to make the book less pages even tho there are more minifigures from 5 years ago. Lazy work by the publisher and author.

This book is so incomplete it's not even funny. I bought it for the awesome Maul figure and the inclusions of Solo, Rogue One, and the Sequels. However, many of the older minifigures have been jettisoned from this version, so keep your old versions for a complete record. A real shame, this had a chance to be one book with every Lego Star Wars minifigure ever, and they blew it.

Plus the book is pretty cool too. My only complaint is the massive thick front cover that's designed to accommodate the Minifigure. Would have been better to put it along the spine or something.

My young daughter will pick it up off the shelf and flip through, discovering new things all the time. She recognizes “Star Wars” and Darth Maul on the spine. It is fun to flip through, and feels like a mini-coffee table book.

I ordered this book so I could talk to my 9 year-old grandson who's on the other side of the USA about a subject he's passionate about. We make up plots and have virtual plays. He has enjoyed this so much he asked for this book for the Holidays.

First off the exclusive "Solo" Darth Maul is a great figure and the book is as nice and well put together as the original and the updated version. But unfortunately this "New" edition is missing a lot.It has removed countless characters from the previous version which had 280 Character pages for example the "Episode 1" section in the "Updated and Expanded" version has 26 Character pages, where as the "New edition" has only 11 Character pages.This would not be so bad if they had for some reason not missed out on many new figures. There is no mention of Iden Versio or Inferno Squad or any of the other Lego Battlefront 2 sets that came out. No "The Mandalorian" mini-figures yet the category is mentioned in the Key and none of the "Resistance" tv show or "Freemaker Adventures" set mini-figures either.As for "Episode 9" they have 5 Character pages, none of the four Knights of Ren, Zori Bliss is pictured on Poe's page yet she doesn't get her own and no page for Ep9 Finn. Plus they removed the entirety of the "Legends" section so no Revan or Malgus even though it too is mentioned in the Key.This book overall is good but seems rushed and/or half finished and is a little disappointing.

You're here as you clearly like Star Wars and Lego, and this book will go some way to whet your appetite for Lego Star Wars.This is a solid book, full of photos and titbits of information. However, as pointed out elsewhere, it is incomplete. It doesn't and can't contain everything, it's a printed book, and there's new Lego Star Wars stuff coming out all the time. A physical book sent to press a year ago (assuming) can't possibly be as up to date as the internet, or offer the necessary pages to cover all existing figures up to that point.What it does do is fire up a sense of wonder in the child in you. It's awesome flicking through the book, checking out figures you already own, want. or missed out on entirely. That's worth the price of admission alone.I would have given full marks, BUT, mine arrived with wibbly wobbly wavy pages, like it's been in very cold storage and then taken to room temp, so the pages aren't flat. It's not enough of an issue to send it back and request a replacement, but it is a minor annoyance...The addition of a Darth Maul figure makes up for any imperfections in the book :D

New out and more upto date on minifigures. The main draw is the minifigure included which is awesome and any fan would have on their wish list. Packaged well and good delivery timescale.

Absolutely perfect apart from the fact that my son now has the product numbers :) Hugely informative. Was just really to get the free character but turned out to be a very good purchase.
