Freshwater 4 Rod Caddy Fishing Rack and Carrier

This is a really well thought out and engineered piece of equipment.It’s easy to load and unload the rods.Holds the rods in place securely. The rods come out just as easy as they went in.There are spacer plugs that help misalign the reels so there not bumping into on another.Makes carrying multiple rods super easy.Keeps baits and lines from tangling.It’s light and easy to transport.It deploys it’s legs automatically when you set it down and the legs retract automatically as soon as you lift it back up…I’ve only used it a few times but I am truly impressed with it.I use it to get my rods from the house to the truck where I can strap this to the roof rack with a bungee or just slide it in the bed. No more leaning rods up against the truck or tailgate worrying about scratching it up or snapping a tip..From the truck to the boat is just as easy…a lot less stress with this caddy…

TL:DR - This product provides immense benefit, and will last long enough that it's well worth the price, the minor issues I've had with the product are easily overlooked by the benefits provided.This product is a game changer, I've spent a long time looking for a rod holder setup that allows you to store rods broken down, and this was the only one I could find, This product also effectively replaces 4 items from my tackle box and my setup, which has helped reduce setup time, and increase total time with bait in the water.1. Multi-rod holder - I fish with my family mostly, 2 rods myself, one for my son, one for my wife, this means I've had to come up with some creative solutions for holding many rods at once, this thing does so easily, and only requires one hand to hold them all.2. Metal rod stand - I fish bait mostly, and find that I had to buy several of the metal spike holders that are inserted into the ground, this allows me to use 2 poles at once, one for spinning/lures, and one for baitfishing. This holder not only does not need to be driven into the ground, but it's easy to relocate and is quite sturdy.3. Rod storage holder - with many rods, comes storage problems - before It was a nightmare, I'd have my poles laying around all over my house or shed, they'd get tangled ALL THE TIME, and it was a huge hassle to rustle them up every time i went fishing, This led to me just keeping my fishing equipment in the car at all times, which - as my wife will attest, makes the car smell like fish bait. With this though, I can carry the rods easily to/from the shed, and mount them to the wall where they're out of the way.4. Rod holder while re-baiting or swapping lures - previously, I'd have to set the rod down on my knee, or lean it up against a chair or other surface, which caused problems sometimes when the rod would slip or get bumped (I have several scars on my fingers from hooks that got me this way). Now, I just lay them into the holder while I switch stuff out, and everyone's happy.Now, it's not all sun and rainbows, there are a couple of downsides:The product included no instructions on how to store poles when they're broken down, this led to a bit of confusion, and i had look up images online to find out how this was accomplished.The product gets quite warm due to the aluminum body, and can sometimes be hot to the touch if left in a warm place, such as a air-conditioner-less shed.Overall however, This product has delivered on all of it's promises and then some, it's sturdy, and the automatic legs are a nice touch, it's a must have for a serious angler with multiple poles.UPDATE: I've been using the pole now for a month or two, fishing 3-5 times per week, and it's held up well, It does not hold poles well while fishing for carp or catfish though, the Caddy is easily tipped over by beastly pulls on the rod, I've solved this by using a bungee cord and a tent stake to stake it down, or lashing it to my tacklebox or cooler.It's still worth the purchase, and i'll probably buy another one as well.

....and I have owned a lot of rod holders. The non-fisherman (or woman) would say that I own a ridiculous amount of fishing rods and they are probably right but the serious fisherman would look at my garage and say "oh wow". My rods are organized however the holders I use are just okay and they are attached to the wall so once I take the rod off that's it. There is nothing more I can do with the holder. In other words it isn't portable, nor are any others that I've seen, at least not meant to be portable and are very bulky.Like most other fisherman I have my regular go-to rods depending on what I'm fishing for and up here in the Northwest it's typically salmon, trout or stealhead, although there are many other species. Typically I have to drive somewhere to fish, which means laying my rods down in the back of the truck with the other gear and if it's a multi-day trip it can mean a lot of gear. The Rod Caddy mounts on the wall however it's hardware allows you to simply lift it off the wall and off you go. The hardware stays in place and when I return I simply lower it right back on and I'm good to go.Most of the time when I arrive at wherever I'm staying the rods are just leaning against the wall and almost every time one falls and then the other then the other then the other then... Since the Rod Caddy has legs retractable legs I can just set it down, pop the legs out and no more dominoes.So far I've been able to keep the rods fully in tact but if I need to break them down into two pieces there is a second slot for each pole (top half) so these guys have figured it out.I would buy this as a gift for someone, recommend it to my best friend and will probably buy another one.How I review:When I review a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star

Awesome rod holder but I wish it was wider. I can’t fit my 4 baitcast rods comfortably on it even with the spacers. Hopefully they come out with an XL which is a few inches wider with permanent spacers to better fit baitcasters and large reels.

This product really does make it easier to transport up to 4 fishing poles. It is simple to use. The first time I took it out, other fishermen at the dock were asking about it. It is a bit bulky, but then again it does carry 4 poles.
