Fantastic! Amazing! Easy to use, and SO, SO USEFUL! I can't recommend this book enough if you are a non-musician planning to facilitate any kind of a therapy or play percussion group. I have a good sense of rhythm and I'm outgoing by nature, but even if you are inhibited and a little rhythmically unsure, this book will aid you greatly. There is a CD that provides a variety of basic beats. I love the author's candor regarding when players are likely to lose interest, and how to change that up, and also the his insights into the level of concentration that the different activities require. This book is a gem. Buy it. Spread the joy.

I can't review the book yet cause I havn't read it yet. I do want to learn to play hand drums & I ordered other items on playing. I just love the sound of percussion & I want to be able to do it.

Fantastic educational tool that makes learning very fun. I used many of these musical games with students from 5-10 and they loved it. Also fantastic for adults. Fits any age group! One of the best purchases I've made. Thanks, Kenya Masala!!

Bought the Book. Seems ok. The Mp3 download link did not work. So 1/3 of the book is useless. If I can get a download link I will re-evaluate.

Einfach genial, dieses Buch.Ich habe nach Anregungen für eine Gruppe von 9 Schülern einer Förderschule, mit denen ich eine Trommel-AG mache, gesucht. Die Aktivitäten sind von unterschiedlichem Schwierigkeitsgrad von leicht bis mittelschwer, gut erklärt (man muss natürlich englisch können) und benötigen verschiedene Percussion-Instrumente: Ei-Shaker, Trommelsticks, Boomwhackers und "Sound shapes" (eine Art Tamburin), wobei mit etwas Fantasie die Instrumente auch durch andere ersetzt werden können.Einige der Spiele lassen sich auch prima in einen Drum Circle einbauen. Dann folgen einige MP3-Tracks, die man sich über einen Link runterladen kann und Ideen, wie man diese in einer Gruppe (mit oder ohne Instrumente) einsetzt. Und zu guter Letzt findet man am Ende des Buches noch ein paar Ideen, Instrumente aus Alltagsgegenständen herzustellen und etliche Links zu Musik, Shops und weiterer Literatur.Für mich ist dieses Buch eine wahre Inspiration - zu einem tollen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
