UPDATE (March 8, 2020): After sleeping on this for about 4 months now I have one addition to add. We purchased this with a metal bed frame/foundation. I regret doing that and will be purchasing a traditional boxspring and frame as soon as finances allow. The foundation we purchased has a large center support "beam" down the middle that causes our mattress to sit differently over that spot. At night I feel like I am rolling up hill just to snuggle with my husband. I don't like it at all! Plus, I could see this causing my mattress to eventually have indentations and uneven wear because we tend to sleep in either side of the center beam of the foundation. Also, the foundation is impossible to move as it has no wheels like a bed frame does. The mattress is still fantastic....with a traditional boxspring I know I will be much, much happier!! Don't get those metal foundations...splurge for a traditional boxspring, if at all possible! Original review (January 2020): I got this mattress to replace another memory foam mattress I've had for about 7 years. This one is different than my other one...it is the perfect combination of soft yet supportive. The memory foam I had before was very hard and, though I loved it, when you first got in bed, it was like you were laying on a pallet of bricks with a sheet on it. It would eventually soften up, but initially it was extremely hard. This mattress is not like that one...this one is comfortable the moment you get in bed. I was a little concerned getting the 10" since my previous mattress was 14", but it hasn't been an issue at all. It opened to full height within about 30 minutes and there was absolutely no smell. We did not follow directions and wait 48 hours....we slept on it 5 hours after putting it up...we don't have another bed and we both had work in the morning, so we had no choice. For the price we are extremely pleased with this mattress. We are fully prepared, based on the price, that we probably won't get more than a couple years out of it, but at less than $200 for a king size mattress, we are totally OK with that!

I was extremely skeptical about buying this mattress. Boy, was I wrong! I'm 68 and I've been picky about my bed for many years. I've paid upwards of $1000 for a mattress several times. A good night's sleep is so important. Now that I'm older I was unhappy with a firm mattress as I would get sore spots - hips, shoulders, ribs, anywhere that the pressure was too much. So I thought about a foam mattress. Upon looking, I saw that this mattress had pages of great reviews, including ones that claimed they didn't wake up with sore spots. I checked the return policy and felt safe trying this one out. I was pretty sure it would be going back. I've now had the best night's sleep that I've experienced in years. This mattress is unbelievably comfortable. There were zero issues with it expanding and it was ready enough for me in 24 hours. I have no idea how high it got and I didn't care. I was just desperate to be comfortable and rested so I used it the second night. Everyone is looking for different things in a mattress, so I'm sure this isn't for everyone, but for me it was the perfect mattress at an unbelievably good price. It came sooner than promised and was perfectly packaged, clean and relatively odor free. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. On a side note, I have a small bedroom and wanted the bed to have as small a profile as possible. I ordered the Amazon Basics Foldable Metal Platform Bed Frame with Tool Free Setup. Listed price at this time is $119, but I checked the "new and open box" listing and got it for $70. The listing said "used" but it was not. This frame was exceptionally well suited as it is a "platform" frame, so it supports a mattress without the need for a box spring.

I was reading about 1000 reviews on beds before finally committing to one. I will update this review in time to see how it performs in the future, but for now I wanted to add to the reviews the overwhelmed shoppers like myself will see. I wrote this review after having it for 2 weeks, but now after 3 years, my positive comments still hold up! Overall, I absolutely love this bed. It came right when it was promised, and I let it expand for nearly the entire 48 hour recommended time. It's only gotten to around 9", but I'm not too worried about it, it's comfortable and a very good size as is, wouldn't change a thing. There was a slight chemical smell that has gone away as I let the mattress rise. I also read that people had trouble with fiberglass... well don't remove the cover. I believe it is to protect the mattress from some liquids, and it isn't intended to be removed. So I avoided that and don't have a problem with it at all. My biggest worry was mold. Thankfully no other reviews mentioned mold, so I thought I was safe. And when I received it, there was no appearance or smell of mold whatsoever. Good stuff! When people explain that it is both soft and firm, they are absolutely right. The first maybe 2 inches are soft, while the rest is supported by a more firm foam. This allows me, a small 120lb woman, to sink in but not keep sinking in. I hated memory foam because I would never sink the way I wanted so it felt way too firm. I really feel like I am supported in all the ways I need to be. I have never woken up in any pain, and I have even been sleeping all the way through the nights. I guess you don't realize how much you were suffering on a bad mattress until you get a new one! Finally, it is even a very comfortable mattress for 2! I don't find my arm getting sore or loosing circulation in any cuddling positions so far. I know that is a little weird, but for anyone looking for a mattress for 2, I hope it helps. The "medium" feel of both soft and firm has kept us both very happy, as I am someone who loves a soft bed, and him firm. The other biggest complaint I've read is that it doesn't last very long, so I updated my review about a year later. So far, it works just as well as the first day I got it! I'm still so comfortable!! I am updating again after 3 years. I am still so happy and comfortable on it! It does feel like the top "soft" later got a little softer, but the high density part beneath remains wonderfully supportive. I also don't feel like the additional softness over time is a bad thing by any means. My husband and I do not fall to the middle anywhere, and still cuddle comfortably through the full night. The only bad thing is that I babysat for a dog who loved thrashing around on a bed, and I think his nails caused some small kind of pilling effect on the top foam layer. But even with that, I don't feel it and it doesn't affect the function of the mattress. You only notice if you are running your hand over the bed and looking for it. After 3 years, I could not be happier. I want everyone to have this mattress!!!

I waited several months to review, so I could give a reliable test of this mattress. We purchased this for our spare room to be placed on a wire framed platform. After going through a huge painful ordeal of purchasing a new bed last year for ourselves at a chain store, that will take 2 yrs to pay off, I'm kicking myself for not exploring this option sooner! People listen up- for what we paid even if this mattress gave out in a year at this price I could afford to replace it EVERY YEAR FOR 10 YEARS and still would not pay what a a high end memory foam twin xl cost. This turned out to be super comfortable, medium soft, did indeed rise to 9 3/4 -10 in. We live in Hawaii so it was important that this not be too hot, and so far no complaints. We did need to put a board on the frame because this mattress when laid directly on the wire frame itself, you could feel the bars. It does need a solid base under in my opinion. But once we did that, we were very impressed with the quality and how it compared to the feel of our temperpedic. Meaning:for the money- I would have saved it and bought this instead! Especially for a spare room, children bed, all our guest have loved it. Very easy to set up, no smell at all on our purchase and it was full size within 24 hrs. Was so scared to try a " bed in box" but now am so happy I did.

I have had this mattress for almost 6 years now. Never had any issues of discomfort or or anything. Best bed i have owned for sure! 👍

Bought this mattress as my Pillow Top spring mattress bought from Amazon about 4 yr ago was already feeling 20 yrs old & made my arms go numb all night. My friend has a memory foam mattress & recommended one to me. Considering she is a little heavier than I am and loves sleeping as much as me, I jumped on the recommendation. The mattress comes compressed & rolled in a 56 lb box. You have to lay it out & gently cut the plastic for it to start taking form. It says to wait 48 hours; which I did, because it seemed like the mattress never got to 9". I bought a 10" mattress, & the box said so, too. After 48 hours, the mattress only grew to 8.7 inches or so. It really feels low to the ground on my bed frame, especially after the pillow top. I wish I got the extra 1.3 inches of foam I purchased because this mattress is not made for sitting on for long. After a few moments of sitting on my bed with my legs folded like a pretzel as I like to do, it feels like I am sitting on the bottom of the mattress. If I go from sitting to laying down, the mattress won't reinflate at all. I have to stand up & stay off it for a minute, then come back to lay down. This bed beats the spring mattress only because there aren't springs poking my hips and shoulders anymore. But, it's really made for back sleeping, especially if you're a bigger guy like me (31 yr old, 5'7, 200 lb), because after being on my side for 30 min to an hour, it feels so low again. If I sleep on my back, the weight is distributed well enough and the sleep is AMAZING. Too bad I like to sleep on my side AND my back & change positions. If this mattress had the extra 1.3X inches of foam as advertised, I wonder if it would be more comfortable. I also wonder if I should have spent the $50 extra dollars or so for the 12", so I could have gotten a true 10" of foam. No gross smells; set up is easy; mattress is WAY lighter than the spring kind. If you're petite and NEED a mattress, I'm sure this would be ok. At least I'm not suffering from numbness in my arms anymore. But if you're a bit on the bigger side, I'd look for something higher quality. This mattress, considering the budget price, is more disappointing than expected. If I buy a 10" mattress, I want it to be 10" tall.
