Great formula, nice dark red
Such a pretty dark red color, and great formula. Opaque coverage in 2-3 coats. Tends to chip fairly easily at tip, so a top coat is a must.

A Tad Pricey and Worth It!
I've worn acrylics for decades, but after the pandemic imposed a nearly two-year break from having a full set, my manicurist and I were perplexed that the nail powder and tips were not adhering to my nails for longer than a few days. In an attempt to give me the same look as the acrylics, we decided to try using gel nail polish with the acrylics to see if the full set would adhere longer. The good news is that it worked. My acrylics lasted longer and didn't start lifting just days after service. But the bad news? After a few days, my cuticles started bleeding and the skin on my fingertips started to crack and peel. It was so painful that I couldn't type without pain -- which at the time was detrimental because I was on deadline to finish a book manuscript and literally lost weeks while figuring out what was wrong.I saw a dermatologist and learned that I was severely allergic to two chemicals used in gel nail polish. So we removed the polish and the acrylics and I went natural while my fingers and nails healed. The next problem was to find a brand of polish that was safe to use. I'd tried a few brands of 7-free and 10-free polish, and while I liked them, they took forever to dry and didn't last very long.Enter CND and its amazing Vinylux line of polishes, with no base coat needed. Two coats of color and one top coat and you're good to go! And the best yet? It dries super fast! I still have a bit of chipping after a few days - mostly my own fault because I forget to wear gloves while doing dishes sometimes - but otherwise I am quite happy with this brand. I've got three colors that I love, and several more on my wish list. Highly recommended!

I love this line of polish. No base coat required!
Original review: I love this polish and the color Wildfire is gorgeous. It's my absolute favorite. If you like red, then this is your color. I get a lot of compliments whenever I wear it. The color goes with everything and my manicure lasts much longer than with the common store brands of regular nail polish. I love that it doesn't require a base coat. It goes on fast and smooth! It comes off easily with acetone and doesn't leave a mess on my skin.Updated 2/20/21 to attach two photos of the color Asphalt because Amazon won't let me review each individual color I purchased. Gotta hate that silly rule! Anyway, Asphalt is a gorgeous gray. It's a real beauty. I absolutely love it! I'll be back with another update when I try the other colors I bought.3/8/21 - updated to add a picture of my French manicure using Negligee as my base and Studio White on my tips. I painted the tips free style without using tape or strips because I like the natural (not absolutely perfect) look it gives the tips. I covered the entire nail with another coat of Negligee after I painted the tips. The colors go beautifully together and I love the clean, natural look.9/17/22 Updated to add pictures of Brick Knit. It's a great fall color and it's very shiny. No base. Two coats of polish. One topcoat (Vinylux CND). Polished and dried in 20 minutes.9/26/22 Updated to add pictures of Hollywood. It's like wearing Wildfire with little sparks.1/28/23 updated with pictures of Kiss Of Fire that were taken in different lighting. It really pops and brightens when the light hits it. Very pretty and easy to paint on. I used sticky base under and the suggested topcoat over. Dried fast.

Loved the staying power but HATE the long term damage it has done to my nails
I am the type of person who never bother with professional manicures because I end up with chips by the end of day 1. This nail polish does exactly what it says it does. It has great staying power. The topcoat is quick drying so it makes it even easier to make it past the drying phase. When it does chip, which for me happens around the 1 week mark, it doesn't start domino effect chipping. When it chips, it stops, doesn't progress until you have a huge area of missing polish. It's almost like if pantyhose were to stop running. Then, with the smallish chip, you can easily touch it up, good as new. I have gotten the polish to last 2 weeks like this.Buuuuuut.... Have you ever heard about how if it seems to good to be true...? Exactly the case here. I wore the polish pretty consistently for perhaps 6 weeks, with a few days off in between. When I took it off for more than a few days, I realized that my nails were very damaged. Before having kids, I had horrible, thin nails. That is nothing compared to what's going on now. Immediately, I could see that my nails were dry. They LOOKED dry. Then they started sort of peeling at the tips. Then they got very brittle. You know how sometimes when you hit your nail straight on, straight down, and you end up with a bend that's a bid like a half moon, like there was a fault line and it cracked right at that point? That has been happening all over the place. I feel like I have osteoporosis of the nails!! It has been perhaps 2-3 months and my nails are still far from recovered. My nails are extremely short, not because I've filed them like that, but because they break off before they can grow. I don't know how long it will take to recover. I couldn't imagine that the damage would be bad enough to swear me off of this polish but it certainly has. I will never use it again. It bums me out because it worked so well. I recommended it to lots of friends. But the damage is too much to justify using it even one more time.So sad that this didn't work out.

Even coverage not easy
I love the color and longevity of this polish. However, the polish is a little more challenging to apply so the coverage appears even than with other CND Vinylux polishes. I've gotten a little lazy about applying even coats with other colors because they are pretty opaque. This one is just a little bit sheer so it's easy to have light & dark spots if you're not careful. If you're a lazy polish-applier, consider yourself warned.

Great polish
Love this brand and polish. Dries within minutes and takes at least 5 days to chip.
