Great maker
This was the first weapon I bought from this maker and I am now buying most of what I get from them. It IS NOT a battle ready sword!!! It is and excellent piece for me and my 9-16 yr olds to play with. We like to go to Renn Faire and go all out with our costumes and this is excellent for that. It is not sharp, though it does have a hint of an edge, so it gives the kids the illusion that it could be real. Also, has heft to it so it gives a fairly real sense of and actual weapon. Bonus to that, it makes a nice ringing sound when pulled out, just like in movies. Now, I actually do have real forged weapons also, so I know the difference. It IS NOT a real sword, but it does play the part very well and is safe enough for the kids as long as they don't get too careless.P.s. It is pointy!! It will hurt a lot if stabbed, maybe even draw blood if you really try... don't !

The one to own
Upon receiving this cutlass, I thought I was paying more for the exact same that thing other vendors were selling about $20 cheaper (The Jack Sparrow Cutlass), but the detail on this sword is quite noticeably better.I purchased both this sword and the Jack Sparrow sword and the attention to detail on the Denix sword is better. The ship has a better indentation and the fleur designs are more prominent on the Denix sword. Also the blade on the Denix sword actually looks like steel compared to the polished, almost mirror coat of the Sparrow sword.I ended up returning the Sparrow sword because it did not pull from the scabbard very easily, but know that the Denix sword is of better quality and IMO is worth the extra money.

Great quality sword for display or to polish off your pirate costume.
I love this sword! I've seen some junky cheap versions of this sword but I'm very glad I spent the extra money to buy the Denix version. It is heavy and a tad bit shorter than I expected, but not bumping into everything is a huge bonus. Mine came very sturdy, no loose parts. When I pull the sword out and put it back it sounds just like you'd imagine hearing in a movie. Oddly enough I like that the blade isn't sharp, although it is very pointy. This is the only cutlass I have and I don't think i'll be buying another, its that good.

Worth It
Feels solid. The blade looks great, and it's length is historically realistic. I purposefully damaged the blade to make it look battle worn, and it didn't break during that process, so I'm very pleased with the result.

Worth every penny!
I liked the look the weight and the length of the sword. The handle was a bit lose but I added some wood shims inside the handle and problem solved. I am going to use this really great looking sword along with a leather baldrik I made to hold it at my side.

I never come on here and write reviews but this sword is amazing!!! Honestly! ABSOLUTELY love it! Im glad I went with the more expensive version of this sword rather than the cheaper one!!!

Very durable, sharpen at will, even unsharpened presents a deadly appearance. And a point to get across.
Most amazing!!! Made in Spain!!! As my Ancestors. El Pirata Blanco would be very proud of this cutlass!!! You need this sword, Jack Sparrow!!!
