Praxis II Technology Education (5051) Exam Secrets Study Guide: Praxis II Test Review for the Praxis II: Subject Assessments

I do not recommend this book for 5051. I read it cover to cover. Very little info from the book was on the test. The sample test in the back was more similar to 5051, but the readings were not relevant to real test or sample test. I passed the 5051 the first time I took it (Jan 2023) but that's only because I studied the practice test I was given when I registered for the test and related material. The sample test in the back was helpful. The chapters were not.

This material is very thorough, almost to a fought. Some of the material listed will not be on this test. Overall, very in-depth of subjects needed.

This was a great start to studying for this test. I went through the book twice to digest all it had to offer.Since this test covers such a wide range of technology information from position of pistons in four stroke engines to how to hold a pencil when sketching, different types of electrical circuits to styles of roofs. You got it- everything having to do with any technology advancement from the stone age on along with who invented what. There is NO way one can study and pass without prior knowledge of MANY areas. I also bought and took 2-3 times all 10 of the 120 question practice tests that one can get through ExamEdge. I also read all 200+ pages online about the 20 steps to educate students to technology k-12.Unless you know it all already, I would suggest to get this book, then take some practice tests; and if you are not doing great- then take some more.That being said I did take the test once and got an A, but without all the studying, I probably would not have passed.

I wasn't very impressed with  Praxis II Technology Education (5051) Exam Secrets Study Guide: Praxis II Test Review for the Praxis II: Subject Assessments , the editing is horrible and it isn't very well written but... it did provide enough of an overview to prepare me for the Praxis II 5051. At this price point, the editing should really be much better.There are not a lot of helpful guides out there to help you adequately prepare for the 5051, most of them reference hefty tomes full of technical language that make very dense reading. This study guide cuts through a lot of that and gives a wavetop overview of what you need to be familiar with for the 5051. Overall, you won't find a more concise study guide for the 5051. If you are at all technically inclined and have a reasonable understanding of electronics, construction, basic science and basic engineering, just jump in and take the 5051.

As far as I can tell, this is pretty much the only prep material out there for the Technology Education Praxis exam. Having gone through the book cover to cover, I wish I had saved my money.Unfortunately, there really doesn't seem to be any viable alternatives out there, so I guess in that sense it's better than nothing. But only barely.The information is simply not organized. There is no logical flow from one topic to another. The information also largely does not keep up with the study guide that is available for the test on ETS's website. For a topic like Technology Education which tries to stay current and relevant to technological progress, it's vital to keep the study guides up to date as well.The practice test is also largely worthless, since virtually none of the questions, style of questions, or content covered by the questions appeared on the actual test.Honestly, rather than buy this book, you're better off downloading a copy of the study guide from ETS and then Googling the topics that you don't know.

I used this book as my primary source of studying and passed on my first attempt. Also, use the quizlet app to supplement with flash cards and any other study material you feel comfortable with like the book Technology by Wright.

I got this study guide to prepare me for the praxis 2 to become a tech Ed teacher. The book is very easy to review and was effective in preparing me for the exam.Very happy with it.

This book provides sufficient background information on the many topics covered under the umbrella of technology education. It helps to have a wide knowledge of the sciences to begin with. I think this booked helped me fill in the gaps of specialized knowledge such as the engineering processes. The practice test was very similar to the real test and was the most helpful section of the book. The answers to the practice test were especially useful as they contained the logic and reasoning on the correctness of each answer choice.
