Gran Luchito Mexican Chipotle Refried Beans, 430g

These refried beans were lovely, you get quite a lot in each packet and they certainly have a great taste!

There's were a lot tastier than expect and are some of the best store bough refried beans i've tasted - as almost as good as homemade but a lot more convient:D

This is a great tasting product, that uses ingredients used in authentic Mexican cookery. This can be used in a myriad of different ways, including everything from a side dish to the main ingredient in a dish. I had this in quesadillas with corn tortillas and with roasted sweet potato in burritos.Nutritionally, I reckon this a pretty good product, being mostly beans which are great sources of fibre and protein as well as many other nutrients. The fat content is negligible, which allows greater freedom to add cheese, soured cream and avocado. The product is low enough in salt to keep your diet below 6g per day, if eaten in proper portion sizes. Split between four people - which I believe there's enough in the packet to do so - you're not going to add much more than a 100 calories to your day.I think that this is a very reasonably priced product, at just over two pounds. Although I would like to know if the contents are freezeable, as there is too much in the packet for me.My only concern is that the packaging is a plastic pouch, which is something that needs to be addressed, though I'm aware there isn't a quick answer to this as alternatives all have drawbacks.

Love refried beans, and chipotle chili, so this was a no brainer for me. Glorious consistency and flavour. A healthy serving of protein, and just heat up then spread on a tortilla.

A bit stodgy and dry, better off making your own.

Best refried beans I've ever eaten the chipotle flavour was authentic and the consistency of the refried beans was just perfect. Yay! And very inexpensive.

Great taste, great customer service, excellent beans

These beans have a great flavour, very like they should have and I know re fried beans. They are not really spicy but have a very good little bite of chilies.I had them in a burrito last night with just some cheese and onion and it was a fab dinner. I really enjoyed them and it made 2 very large Burritos. The thing I did not like was the pouch. I hate the packaging and while it maybe environmentally friendly and I am in favour of that that It is hard to use... I have given it 1 star less for the packaging. I like a tin or even better, a jar.. also hard to store in the pack when open ..as I kept a few back. but that said and done I love them and they are the best I have ever had in the UK Great brand .I have had others of their things and all so tasty. Good price as it takes hours to make them from scratch. I highly recommend these refried beans for a quick supper or to go with other Mexican food.
