Good flashlight
There may be better options out there now, but there's a reason I still went for this brand- familiarity and durability. I carried the old incandescent Maglite mini everywhere I went, and then picked up this LED version nearly two years ago. I have carried this flashlight with me nearly every single day for those two years now and it still works and looks great. It has a few small scuffs, but it doesn't impact performance. Some people ask me why I carry a flashlight, and my answer is that this is much brighter than phone camera lights, it has an independent battery from my phone, so it's not eating into that, I can set it in places I wouldn't want my phone to go, and I can very quickly and easily pull it out and turn it on, way before anyone else can get their phone light on. I love the size of this light and the shape, I like that it takes AA batteries instead of some internal LiPo that will eventually lose all charge and die, however I know that lights that take 18650's exist in plenty now, although this light costs less than many of those. While this light may not be as fancy as some others on the market, the KISS principle really applies, and I like my tools simple and functional. This is simple, this is functional, this is my EDC. It may not be for everyone, but it fits my use case.

Great product
This company is known for high-quality products, and the Mini PRO LED is no exception. It just works, and beautifully. And the 10 year warranty tells you they are confident in their product.Light Quality: Compared to ThruNite which is yellow-ish, and YiFeng which is blue-ish, the light from the Maglite is so natural, just like you'd see in the day. This colorimetry is a huge gain when looking at large areas, for it makes it easier to pick out details that you want to recognize, instead of just casting a huge yellow light on everything or a huge blue-green light on everything. 2 thumbs up to MagLite for this.I also like the use of 2 AA.Ease of use: What is awesome is that for anyone used to using small MagLites, this one is similar in that with barely a twist you immediately get a ton of light. Outside, the intensity, distance, and side to side range is fabulous and makes this light a clear winner in comparison to others. The finish is high quality and the candle mode is also a nice feature to continue having just like the previous incandescent models. The long focus depth is great. It says 332 lumens and 172m of range, but comparing it to the YiFeng which is supposedly 1000 lumens, the Maglite is actually much better at almost any distance. So I suspect MagLite is being conservative with it's specs, and YiFeng might be exaggerating their's.It's also awesome that MagLite gives you the first set of batteries, and not cheap ones either. Nice, good quality batteries -- that's great value. The only drawbacks -- minor issues, but I'll name them:1 - The belt holder isn't a real benefit for me. I've often received them with other small MagLites, but seldom used them. Instead, a nice wrist lanyard to avoid dropping the light -- that would be nice and most competitive products are offering some nice ones.2 -- packaging isn't easy to open or eco-friendly -- MagLite needs to work on this, since the days of using an Xacto blade to open clamshells is supposed to be behind us.

sweet...
So far just love it!!! Kinda wish they used the new push button on their Ultrabright led instead of the old twist on/off. Even right out of the package, for some reason, the light wouldn't light??? Kinda had to twist, twist and twist and then finally. Even now about two, three weeks in, it still doesn't light once in a while and I have to fiddle and twist and then it lights. I've always seen this with the twist style on/off they use on all of their lights...I've got a lot;) It's a connection problem, contact problem, not sure if it's paint on the threads or what, oil even maybe...they need to get rid of this type of on/off finally on all their products...the push buttons on their larger lights is so nice, come on guys.Ok the light...a buddy of mine had just gotten their regular AA LED version and I new I had to make the jump. Well after searching I found out that they have this "Ultrabright" LED version that puts out 226 Lumens compared to 69 Lumens of their "standard" AA LED light and for what, 2 bucks more!! Now I see while trying to get my facts right for this review that they have a 245 Lumen AA led version available....but for almost $7.00 more! I can't see that being worth it for me. Actually, I've almost found this light to...almost be a bit "to" bright! When holding it as a co-worker turns a bolt, pipe ect or what ever it really "shines" almost to bright especially if there is a wall right behind where we're working;) No ones ever complained, I actually point it a little off target to keep from blinding them;) I can hardly imagine that that could be possible but it's true...but I love it;)"Focus", this thing really "doesn't" seem to focus! It's just bright, while trying to use the normal twist to focus, it is only slight and almost imperceptibly changes but certainly not a deal breaker. By no means is the beam "broad and wide but it doesn't get the "tight" pattern that their non led AA mini does ...it would be sweet if they could get the focus working.Except for the twist on/off not always lighting the first time, this is an awesome mini flashlight. It was a little embarrassing when I tried to show it off to my buddy against his new regular led light when I couldn't get mine to light, well, eventually;) Just a note, This light is just a bit "longer" then the regular version, actually about 3/4+ of an inch longer/taller and I have noticed it a few times on my belt against my hip...probably have had the same experience with the regular standard ones but this one a few more times. I've worn the regular version for years now at work every day. p.s, get this thing, I might buy one of those push button kits, lol;) maybe not;)Ok, now after owning the light for several months and now that our company actually purchased them for the guys, a safety thing really. I heard the guys right of the get go complaining about the light, not lighting!! ;) I tried to explain to them that I had the same issue initially and actually still do. A great "bright" light and of course not having to basically ever replace the "bulb", I give it a 95 our of 100 but that not lighting is a darn shame, have to twist the bottom, ect. Not sure if it gets "opened" while in the pouch or what but it sure happens "all" the time ;( Darn Maglight, you guys can do better then this. Again, a sweet light but so darn aggravating ;) Still recommending it for sure but taking a star away, sorry guys, you still have a little work to do on this baby.

Great quality! Comes with a sheath to carry it
Excellent light quality. Powerful very durable. Only drawback is that the cap that holds the batteries in tends to come loose which makes the light go out. I usually use my pliers to tighten and lock it in place
