The Taste of Belgium

I bought the book for a gift for my brother who is from Belgium he absolutely loved the book it was very well written and laid out the pictures are awesome and self-explanatory it it is a great gift would absolutely buy it again

This arrived in the mail yesterday and I haven't been able to put it down! What a beautifully written and photographed book. Its emphasis on local ingredients and rustic family fare is key...it makes clear the Belgian lifestyle is to invest the time and care to cook good food. You don't have to live in Belgium to make the recipes work, though. It's very adaptable to any region (well, maybe not Antarctica, but hey...!)There are some very interesting recipes I've never seen, and I look forward to trying them. Great uses of herbs! And beer, can't forget beer! Or chocolate!The many stories and anecdotes about family are as heartwarming as they are engaging in relaying the author's background and perspective, and the sections discussing history and various ingredients very enlightening. Well worth the purchase, and I'm so glad to have it in my library! I'll use it often, and recommend it. I'm so glad I made this purchase.

As I am from Belgium (Gent) it was good to have an updated edition of the recipes with a lot of pictures

Bought for a non Belgian friend. Super book. Hard to recognize the translated names at first 😂

I purchased three cookbooks with recipes for Belgian dishes we enjoyed on a trip there. This was, by far, the best.In fact, I immediately returned the other two! The recipes in this cookbook are simple to understand and the dishes turn out delicious.

I encourage anyone to cook from this book, the food is delicious. Soups and waffles are some family favorites.

Great book. Beautiful pictures.

A very good cook book with all the Belgian Favourites and more. Recipes show both metric and imperial measures. I have not yet cooked from it but it was highly recommended by people that have.

A great book to read and cook from.

Bought it as a gift for my mother in-law! She loved it. The recipes are diverse and tasty. Only downside is that the book is missing pictures in my opinion.
