The only thing I liked was the metal base, but even then it's small at around 5 inches wide.. The gooseneck is all plastic and many pieces so it will definitely wear out over time. They advertised a silicon tip cover on the alligator clips, just once glance and you can tell it's just a shrink wrap tube wrapped around (which is a type of plastic, and NOT silicon). It did come with the 0.6mm yellow leaded solder wire, BUT it did NOT come with the 0.8mm blue leaded solder wire. For the price they're selling at, it is overpriced without that extra solder wire and getting a shrink wrap tip on the alligator clip.

Not stable at all. Because the base is made of featherweight piece of aluminium of very small dimensions it has tendency to tip over. It is almost impossible to work with it without clamping it to your workbench - something that other solutions that I use do not need. I purchased this particular product from among many almost identical ones because I wanted rubber protectors that slide over alligator teeth to protect the items I work on from scratches. To my dismay what came in the box was not what's on the pictures. The alligator clips had rubber only on the other ends. Alligator clips themselves could be a bit beefier with at least 2x more clamping force. Lastly the alligator clips are falling out too easily whenever you try to rotate them. They are not attached in any way and are simply push-ins. The only pro that I can think of is the price, however this alone does not make it a buy recommendation. I will keep it because it's not worth my effort to return it. Maybe I can use it for some higher purpose like a door stopper or something.

I know this is intended for soldering and probably a slew of other "real-life" applications, but I didn't buy it for any of those. My wife is an artist, and we both love painting miniatures for Dungeons and Dragons. These arms are MUCH better than any stand or mini holder we've used before. The flexibility, stability, and length of the arms really lets you hold whatever you want, however you want. The magnifying glass is amazing for smaller spaces, and the flashlight keeps everything nice and bright (maybe even too bright in some cases). Painting minis with extra pieces was never so easy and fun (looking at you, Beholder)!!

Works exactly as intended. A little pricey compared to other options but you get a premium product. The solder they include is basic but also a nice addition for someone who doesn't have a bunch already. The arms have good flexibility and are long enough to do any form of support but also stiff enough to be strong supports. The base is heavy enough to not tip over and the cutouts are perfect for little pieces and a roll of solder in the middle

For the most part it is great the only issue I have is the alligator clips on the end of the arms are just stuck in the hole and come out easily especially when you try and rotate the clip to accommodate your work piece just would be better if they were attached and able to rotate. And the base isn’t very wide so I clamp it to the table otherwise it tips pretty easily

The clips are just hot glued into the end of the arms. I was thinking they would be attached in such a way that they didn't come out easily, but they were able to rotate. Glued in, they don't fall out, but the also don't rotate. Remove the glue and the rotate, but they also fall out.The base is nice and solid and heavy enough to support your work and keep it from tipping.

This tool is one of the best things I have in my craft room. I have used it for so many different tasks that I recommend it for everyone. I just ordered another one as a gift for my daughter .The opinion for the placement of the light is extremely useful. I really like the many positions of the arms and clips and clamps for jewelry making and repair.

All the Youtube hobbyists have this particular "Helping Hands" it seems so I picked it up. It's very useful, the base is heavy enough to keep it from flopping around, but the clamps on almost every arm pulled out of the plastic and swivel around making positioning somewhat difficult. I had to glue mine in to keep them from getting lost or twisting.

Parts are missing out of the product .I've got a magnifying glass for got nothing to attach it to.It looks like there is not a missing for the magnifying glass.
