Melissa & Doug products are always the best! I am an adult and I bought this kit for myself. The butterfly box kit comes with 1 butterfly box, 12 gem stickers, 4 paint pots, 1 paint brush, 1 pink glitter glue, and 1 white glue. The box is small in length, height, and width. It can fit doll accessories, beads, small trinkets, and jewelry. The paint dries fast and the colors are more vibrant when you apply a second coat. I recommend applying the glue last because it takes much longer for the glue to dry and it's a little stinky. The white glue dries clear, I didn't know it would be clear until I applied some on the box. I painted over the glue with white paint once it was dried. The pink glitter glue has a lighter pink color when dried. You can paint over the butterfly design on the top and the design of the butterfly still shows through the layers of paint applied. I tried to make my box look similar to the picture on the packaging. Once the outside was dry I painted the inside of the box and lid, then added the gem stickers. My only critique is the paint brush bristles were very flimsy and soft, so it didn't provide much paint coverage on the area being painted and was hard to create a design with it. I used a regular paint brush I had at home instead. Overall I enjoyed making it, and there's some paint and glue left over I can use for another craft project. It took about 2 hours to complete (not including time for the glue to dry). It was a nice small project to do on my day off from work.This product would be a great arts and crafts project for kids. The paint and glue also washes off of skin and surfaces easily with soap and warm water. The box is well made and should last a long time.

Bought this for my 5 year old niece who just loves to have boxes to keep her “treasures” in. It was very easy to paint, came with sparkly add-ons that looked like fake gems and the end result was an adorable little box she said was “fancy.” She was able to paint it by herself with minimum of help. The paint colors are bright and fun and it doesn’t take long to accomplish, so good for short attentions spans. This would make a nice activity for a child’s party.

My 3 and a half year old granddaughter loved it. She crafted her own box.

A great gift for the littles in your life, everything they need for an easy craft

Purchased for 7 and 8 year old granddaughters for a Valentine gift. They loved it. So worth the money. They painted them by themselves. They were surprised at first how little the hearts were but did not care once they started painting them. The hearts were surprisingly durable and thick enough to paint. Painting them was not a mess at all. Would purchase again . Great gift!

I bought these for my granddaughters for xmas. They are cute but they were disappointed in the paint selection so I just grabbed some other colors and some glitter and additional embellishments from my craft supplies and they jad a great time decorating them.

Pretty cute - used for a gift box decorated by granddaughter (2.5 yo) for gift to grandma. The gems aren’t stickers and need to be glued - stickers / self-adhesive would have been preferred but we managed! The pink glitter glue takes a while to dry but did set eventually.

Esta muy entretenido a mi sobrina le encanto la idea de diseñar y pintar su cofre, estuvo entretenida un buen rato. llego muy cuidado, a tiempo para su regalo del dia del niño. Lo unico es que el pincel que trae esta muy delgado, necesitaras uno mas grande para pintar mas área.
