I buy this on subscription its a great value and the seeds are fresh not dusty and stale like other brands

I prefer to give our birds an all natural diet when ever possible. One reason is because I feel they do much better on it and another all those other feeds that have the "colored/flavored" bits/pellets mixed in the birds never eat. We use this for Parakeets, Cockatiels, Doves and Quaker (he doesn't like parrot food). So a few years ago I went searching for good quality and price and came across this. Every shipment the seeds are always fresh and never any bugs. The birds also love it so that is a plus. The only issue we ever had is in shipping 1/4 of the time the bag comes in busted/cut.

I got my parakeet from a young boy. He had never had birds before and bought what the pet store had available to feed birds with. Most of these are filled with chunks of stuff that resembles lucky charms cereal and is very brightly colored. I brought the little guy home and found out he had extreme diarrhea and it was reddish orange. I knew from much previous experience that parakert poop looks like a little black and white ball that hardens and is easily cleaned up without staining things in the house while out of his cage. I shopped the stores and couldn't find anything that didn't have the lucky charms in it. I bought something and tried it with the same results. I shopped again only on Amazon that time. I found this very simple product that was merely 4 seeds that parakeets eat. Also in the food the pet stores offer there are always seeds and other components that the birds will leave in their containers and refuse to eat. My parakeet eats every single seed from this formula ands loves it! After beginning to eat this mixture, his diarrhea went away quickly, his cere turned blue and his feathers became brightly colored. His former family lost 2 other parakeets in the time between purchasing him with another one and replacing the other one when it died. The other bird died on Christmas day and the despairing boy decided he didn't want to have birds anymore. I suspect that the frufru parakeet food killed the other 2 birds and my Pickles was fortunate or cussid enough to survive. Emphasis on cussid. I am so thankful to have found this product. It is lasting a good long time too.

I’ve been buying Kaytee seeds, first the Fortis-diet Pro Health with seeds and pellets, my budgies do not like the pellets either picked them out or left them in the feed tray. Next I bought Kaytee Supreme seeds without the pellets, thinking they will like it unfortunately the contrary. I don’t know the reason but they stopped eating after a seed or two. It is possible that the seeds are stale and my budgies have been screeching probably feeling hungry. I have nothing to feed my budgies so for a while I fed them spray millet treats, which is very pricy for daily feed. I am very happy I found this brand, the seeds are very fresh and it is recommended to store in the fridge to retain freshness. Will buy again.

The different budgie foods purchased were a gift for a friend who indicated they were having trouble finding birdfood everytime they went shopping so I thought I would send some. The deliveries were on time and the bird loves the foods and treats.

Long story... I was given a parakeet that was very young. He came with the food that people had been feeding him. It included colored morsels and lots of different things in it. I have raised many parakeets in my life. This one wasn't doing well and he was having orange colored watery diarrhea. Diarrhea indicates an unhealthy bird. I'd never had a bird before that had such constant diarrhea. I returned the food to the store and bought different food. Most of the food at the pet store had colored various items in it. The next food also caused an unhealthy reaction. I was fed up. I knew that my birds in the past had always just eaten bird seeds. I looked online to find something else because the pet store did not give me any more options. I found this wonderful parakeet food that states on the package that it's just the seeds that parakeets eat. No brainer. My parakeet only needs to eat the seeds he's supposed to eat not all that extra junk. I emptied his food tray and put the clean seed in. He began to eat it and his diarrhea cleared up immediately. He became much more healthy and happy. I liken it to feeding children sugary cereal with lots of colored dye in it. It's a lot of unnecessary fluff that is not good for them. I'm so happy to be able to reorder this bird seat for my parakeet.

I looks for seed mix without corn and soy as the one of the first ingredients. This does not hav ANY soy or corn Also I don’t want funny little pellets colored or otherwise or sugar and artificial colors. Btw, corn is frequently one of the top 3 ingredients if not the number one ingredient. Corn is a cheap, fattening filler which is why they feed it to livestock. To fatten them up and cause them to get big faster. It used to be used in practically all dog kibble but consumers now look for dog food without corn for the same reasonThis seed does not have any of the above mentioned offending ingredients. It is vacuum sealed, smells fresh when you open it and, best of all (drum roll please) you can sprout it ! The birds love sprouted seed and if seed isn’t fresh, it won’t sprout!Give this a try. Please remember that any change in diet should be made slowly And don’t forget to give fresh veggies too and you will have a happy, healthy budgie

Good value for the money, birds love it, bulk goods are the only way to go.

I didn't expect to get so much a very large bag. Can't imagine how long it will take for my one small bird to go through it all. Lots of seed for the price.

I think my budgies are pigs in disguise. I used to buy this Hagen Budgie seed in the 6lb bag size but they go would through those bags so fast. This 25lb bag size has the same seed mix that the birds love, and will last a while longer. I also save some money by purchasing in bulk. Quick delivery to my doorstep. I'm happy, my birds are happy!
