Awesome Cable!
Cable gets 5 stars, made my beater 2002 SL2 shift nicer than any manual car I've ever driven.Only hiccup in this purchase was that someone had obviously started installing this cable and sent it back to Amazon for some reason, was missing one of the nuts that holds the gasket onto the firewall, easy enough to source a replacement for that. Amazon gave me the option of sending back for a replacement or getting a 15% refund and keeping this cable, I took the 15% discount because other than the nut and having a bit of grease on it the cable appeared to be in perfect condition, I doubt previous purchaser has even gotten as far as attaching the cable to the shift tower because the bushing wasn't deformed at all. Anyway, after getting over my minor annoyance of being sent a not entirely new cable I'm perfectly happy with my purchase!

Good enough!
The part had the right number, and fit except the non removable grommet meant to seal the engine bay from cabin was completely wrong so I'm left with a hole. The service department said it was a three hour repair I did it in 1:10. with out any special tools.

Perfect fit for 2002 Saturn SC2.
This was a perfect fit for my 2002 Saturn SC2. My mechanic said it was a quality part and the repair-install took less than 1 hour. Been driving the car for over a month and the shifting is excellent with no stiffness. Very satisfied.

Excellent cable, it's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. Stick with OEM cables, instead of the cheap generics that shred after a small amount of use.

USE this cable set for 02 saturns with busted 5-speed manual transmission cables, it's OEM.
This fits 2002 Saturn SL (SOHC).I bought my set for less ($146.50 including shipping) by punching in the part number until I found a search engine that listed this part number with about several doz sellers of these cables. When you remove the old busted cables, retain all the retaining hardware as this set made by GM does not come with new hardware, it's the retainers that keep the cable ends in place, (on their respective transmission shifting posts) and the u shaped pieces that secure the large lug piece, (I can't recall the actual name) in the engine compartment end to the engine block.Feed the cables one at a time, this set has to go from inside through the hole as this set has a plate that secures the cables on the engine side and the only way to accomplish this is to feed the cables into the engine area from inside the car.Make sure to line up the cables into the center so you won't have to do any unnecessary bending to get the cables inside the center console metal frame.Try to avoid the mistake I made and don't secure the transmission side of the cables until you have the shift tower connections completed as my selection cable was twisted inside and I later took it off the transmission side, (this is the white or yellowish cable end, it selects 1st/2nd gear, the shift cable, (black on both ends) selects or shifts 3rd,4th, 5th and reverse.Channel locks that don't slip out of the groove easily are best for making sure the shift tower end snaps into place on the inside post, make sure to get the black cable into the small square hole on the shift tower, the white select cable will snap into place on the shift tower closest to the driver's side with hand pressure alone. My cable ends for the shift/select tower came pre-lubricated, so snapping them into place was quick and relatively easy.My old cables came loose and broke off from the large cable lug piece resulting in a complete loss of all the black cable associated gears, (3rd,4th,5th & reverse). Also the rubber boot that covers the metal rod that moves the gear posts on the transmission broke off, (Black end cable) and allowed dirt and debris to enter the cable, this probably led to the cable failing from repetitive internal friction.

Gm fit, finish, and quality
These were a direct drop in replacement for my 2000 Saturn, purhased for a transmission swap. The chinese knockoffs are known for being less than stellar quality. The price of the factory GM part is exorbitantly overpriced, but for a 22 year old car you get what you get. As described, fits perfect, works perfect, zero complaints.
