Just what I was expecting
I'm not finished with it yet, but it is exactly what I was expecting - very cute! For those who are criticizing - this is exactly what a counted cross stitch kit is. It's not hard, but it takes a very long time to complete. Nothing is printed on the fabric - you count everything following the directions. The fact that nothing is printed on the fabric makes it easy to make changes. I often change colors. For this one, I don't understand the limbs of the bottom bear, so I am removing the large feet and putting a gift to the right, where the foot is. Counted Cross stitch is a hobby, not a quick kit. Take your time and enjoy it. I am!

Gorgeous pattern, materials provided could be better, overall, a fun time cross stitching!
Dimensions has the most beautiful patterns! They are so fun, and I had a great time working on this stocking. I love all the different thread counts on the stitches and the different types of stitches. It’s hard to tell the texture and depth from a photo, but the end product is stunning. Some people like to fill in the white spaces or add full stitches where there is a half stitch - DON’T! Those are what give the finished product “dimensions” and make them so gorgeous. I made this stocking for a friend and it took me 15 months with a few moderate breaks in between. I would not consider myself an advanced cross stitcher. If you have patience, can make an x or / with thread, and follow a pattern, you can do this! It’s basically paint by number with thread. My friend that is an expert sewer and quilter helped me finish it, as I don’t know how to use a sewing machine. That part seems much harder to me than the cross stitching. Like most people, we did not use the backing provided. I thought the pattern was easy to read, the aida cloth was fine, but I absolutely hated the thread provided. It pulled and knotted too easily and was generally frustrating to use. I am working on my next stocking, and I bought all new DMC thread, and already it is going much smoother. One deviation, I used white mill hill beads for the snow because I struggle with French knots, and I muddled through on the animals’ eyes and I am happy with the compromise.

This is a beautiful, advanced level kit
This is a beautiful, advanced level kit.I have made one stocking a year for the past 5 years and I start them right away in January to be ready as Christmas gifts. I have used other brands in the past, and now will only use Dimensions. They have the best instructions and best quality floss. The amount of shading in this particular kit also makes it complex, since you are changing thread often when there are just a few Xs in one shade such as in the scarf. This kit is on 18-count Aida, meaning 18 squares per inch which is more Xs per inch than in a 16 or 14 count aida kit. Cross-stitch stockings take hundreds of hours to finish but if you love this hobby, it's relaxing and gives beautiful results. If you are more of a beginner, I recommend a Dimensions kit that uses 14 count aida. If you are not sure if counted cross stitch is for you, start with a much smaller project and see if you find it relaxing and enjoy it as a hobby.

non professional cross sticher
This is my third xmas stocking that I'm cross stiching in 3 years. I've made one for each of my kids as I found out I was expecting. I am in no means a pro at cross stiching and it takes me close to a year to finish a project of this size. I have found that I really like the Dimension brand kits as it includes easy to understand directions and decent quality material. This kit had the yarn strings already seperated which saved me some prep time. This kit pattern includes a lot of mixing color strands which adds more depth to the finish project. A small hint to those not profficent at cross stiching, use masking tape on the edges of the fabric to prevent fraying instead of basting a stich around. Its saves time and works better than basting. (I wish someone had told me this earlier!)

Cute little project
This was a great kit, I ordered it and figured I would do it for my wife as a surprise for Christmas, it was a little more involved then I thought it would be, it took a lot more time than I thought it would. Now keep in mind this is coming from an IT guy and a motorcycle instructor, so it's not because of the kit, it's just not something I am used to doing.I ended up not getting it done in time before Christmas, I had to wait until she went to bed at night to work on it so it would remain a surprise. So I showed it to her, and she really thought it was cute and thoughtful.Everything needed for the kit is included, tons of sewing floss, and a nice blunt needle for doing the work.I wish it would have been a printed canvas like I remember using back when I was a child helping my mom, but it just made it that much more special that I had tried to tackle it lol.Great product, I will buy patterns from them again in the future if I decide to do another one.

Great kit! Loved the colors
This kit made a great stocking. It came with plenty of thread. I really enjoyed doing it, it took me about 2 months of long hours trying to complete before Christmas. I did not use the felt provided, instead I had it sewed together with velvet on the back and lined with a gold satin fabric and gold piping along the edges to dress it up. Very happy with how it turned out!

Good Kit
This was my first cross stitch. I walked into the project knowing how to read patterns and how to stitch. That being said, this is not a pattern if it is your first time cross stitching.I was able to complete this with enough threads and I had to rip out A LOT. There are half stitches, french knots, and blends. The FFO is beautiful and I love it.

Love it!
Love this kit! Made this for my niece. I bought fabric to line inside and back. Less time consuming/easier to complete than some of the other Kits since you leave so much of the light blue Aida exposed.

High quality, beautiful design.
This is my third 'Dimensions Gold' Christmas stocking, and they have all been superb. There is a lot of work, with dozens of different colours, but the final effect is absolutely stunning. If you want something quick, this isn't for you, but if you want something that will be treasured for years to come, this is the one for you. My only quibble is that the supplied needle is not up to the job because the eye is too small to take 4 threads. And they break, but maybe that's just me.

Beautiful Stocking
This is a great pattern. Very detailed. The threads do come pre sorted in the package but I still found easier to convert into dmc colours.
