I was not ready for this sombrero. I came home from work and there it was. As I approached the sombrero I heard mariachi music coming from the box. I opened the box and a bright gold aura blinded me. When I regained my vision, I was on the beach of Cancun. Wearing nothing but my sombrero, chanclas and a mexican speedo. I walked on the beach for several miles until I found a beautiful Senorita. We talked and in the blink of an eye we were in love and testing positive for Hepatitis. It was a love so pure it burned upon urination and she would cry tears of Jose Cuervo. This is actually quite large around the brim but the head hole isn't huge, I would describe it as a medium. Overall it's worth the price, good size and weight, exactly as pictured in look.

My adult head is on the smaller size and this Sombero fitted well. My only complaint would be the string that keeps it on your head or around your neck - it is a tad short and needs a proper supplemental clasp to be easily adjustable.

Very fun hat, super cheap cost, blocks out the sun if you wear it outside, super comfortable fit, very round durable hat!

I purchased 2 of these for birthdays one turning 95. It looks nothing like the picture. There are no silver embellishments one either side of the hat. The silver trim is poorly done where the ends are unraveling and ugly. The hat brim is just flat, it does not flip up like the picture. The felted base looks super cheap. I am very displeased but don’t have the time to get something in time for the party. What a bummer!

Bought this as part of a costume. It did the trick! Quality is costume quality so don't expect to buy this and getting an authentic mariachi hat.

...that's what shes said. Pleasantries aside, I purchased this hat on the description "Oversized". Perhaps oversized for a child because it barely fit my head and was quite small in overall dimensions. At the end of the day that was OK because I wanted the hat to be ironically big; and it turned out to be ironically small... so I got the reaction I was looking for in any case. Product description communication aside; Forum Novelties Inc. got me the package on time and the quality of the hat was fine (definitely Halloween costume quality, not Saturday night Mariachi Jam Band quality).

MACREADY WEARS AN OLD SOMBRERO STEAMED AND BENT TO LOOK LIKE AN OVERSIZED CAMPAIGN HAT. i NEEDED TO STEAM AND SHAPE THE SOMBRERRO TO LOOK LIKE IT, AND THEN COLOR IT TO LOOK CAMO-BROWN. I DID NOT KNOW IF THIS HAT COULD BE DONE THIS WAY OR NOT. WHEN IT ARRIVED IT WAS IN NEW AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS WELL AS BEING IN PLENTY OF TIME TO STEAM AND SHAPE IT AS WELL AS PAINT IT AND LET IT DRY. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS PERFECT AND, AND AS WITH EVERYTHING ELSE I'VE ORDERED ON AMAZON, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THOROUGHLY SATISFIED AND WOULD RECOMMEND THERE SERVICE ALWAYS. BOB RUSSELL

I purchased this sombrero as part of a comfortable, quick Halloween costume. It arrived well packaged and on time. When the box showed up at my door, I wasn't sure what it contained at first, because of the dimensions of the box. Then I opened it, and I found my sombrero, snugly fitted in the box, to maintain the wonderful curve in the extra large brim. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it to be so large, of such great quality, and so handsomely decorated with silver stitching. It really is an eye-catching piece of apparel. You can wear this sombrero with so many things for Halloween or Fiesta del dia de los Muertos [Day of the Dead], which is catching on in northern America. It's constructed from a heavier fibre material than most sombreros I have seen, and it will long outlast my use for it. I will happily and confidently pass it along when I'm done with it, and I'm sure they will appreciate it as much as I do. Great quality item, and very lovely too.
