The Essential Baking Company Take & Bake Sourdough, 16 ozUSDA Organic

This bread came packed in a brown paper mailing envelope, inside the bakery company's double plastic wrapper with a built in air pocket/bubble for protection. You can tell this bakery cares about their products AND their customers! They make sure their products are packed to arrive in peak condition. And this bread did arrive in perfect condition, which was very surprising since none of the other stables of food items I order - almost daily from Amazon PRIME - arrive when promised - they are often delayed several times before receiving - too often with some breakage, dented, or missing items!I'm sick of this inferior and sloppy packing that is Amazon's responsibility.BUT this bread baked up lovely as the package instructed and the sourdough tastes wonderful! A wonderful treat!

Best sourdough that taste like sourdough

I’ve ordered this twice and received two different versions. The first was a black bag with no wrapping inside; that loaf was great, light chewy crumb and crunchy crust. This one in the white bag had a further plastic wrap inside with a packet to absorb moisture/oxygen. It tastes good, but has a much tighter, denser crumb and soft crust. Sourdough with soft crust is just sad! The loaf has a dent all along the bottom from being compressed in the inner shrink-wrap. I’d be far more likely to buy again if I could be sure I’d get the black bag version.

This bread was fantastic! Crisp outside and just the right amount of chew inside. Fresh from the oven with a bit of quality butter and it was the best store bought sour dough I’ve ever had.

It says to bake, but looks already baked to me. Taste OK but too dense for me

I’m not saying this bread is cheap but it’s delicious. It’s as good as the crusty bread we used to buy at the grocery and cheaper. Everyone loves it particularly the Rosemary flavor. The bread is already cooked. You’re simply heating it up so if you don’t have a large household, simply put a slice in the toaster. 😋 it’s so good, when I was trying to cut carbs, I did without the pasta noodles and put the pasta sauce directly on the bread.

Please do not stop selling or making it!! It’s WONDERFUL.Expiration is far out, so you can have it sitting on shelf until you need it.It bakes up nice and crispy. CLEAN INGREDIENTS. The sour dough is out of stock too often, so frustrating!!!
