Okay, I've been using this product for about a year and a half, so I'm very familiar with it. I didn't know it was for sale on amazon until recently and am thrilled.We all need to poop - they even have children's books about it. Well, as a female with IBS, poop has always been a big issue for me. Either I used to have a stomach ache and it would be either diarrhea or constapation or both. I know - way too much info - but in case other's have this issue too.BOWTROL - I use this primarily before my period - I know again, too much info, but I wanted to write an honest review that would help others - especially women. For me, 7 or 8 capsules work great overnight and I'm amazed (and grossed out) at how much waste leaves my body. I've noticed that if I clean out my colon, my period seems to be a much easier experience every month. Less cramping, etc.For my sister, who I introduced the product too, she only takes maybe four capsules and that's enough for her - so make sure to follow directions on the bottle and start with a few and move up if necessary (I'm not a doctor!) just common sense.What to expect!?!?! Sometimes I will be woken up with cramps and have to go to the bathroom. Hello people - it's your body cleaning itself out - there may be some cramping, but nothing major, just natural as your body pushes out waste. My sister however gets no cramping - so again, we're all different.If it goes through your system quickly, I say stay close to a toilet until noon and then again after you eat. Otherwise you should be good. I don't take them if I have to go to work early or have a change in my schedule. Sometimes I'll use on the weekend to be sure. If you get into a schedule taking them, then you will become more regular and not have to plan around going to the bathroom.Now that I've been using Bowtrol for a good amount of time, my bowel movements are more consistent and I don't have the diarrhea and constapation problems.There also good to take if you've had way too much pizza and starchy foods and feel really bloated.Taste - they have an herbal taste that you will taste when you swallow the capsules and maybe again if you burb. It's not bad, just herbal and you get used to it. I think it taste pretty healthy.I know some people use this to lose weight, which I think it helps - but I hope for your sake you eat right and drink lots and lots of water. Don't expect colon cleansers to do ALL THE WORK!I've also noticed that my sinuses have cleared up, but I don't know if that is because of Bowtrol directly or just because my intestines are clear and it's all connected. Anyhow - I hope this helps anyone who is debating the product.I saw some people had problems with customer service - I haven't, but now I'm going through Amazon, who is always reliable.

This product works for me and I'm glad I was able to find it for a lower price. I wasdisappointed that it wasn't 90 capsules like I'm used to getting.

Did not work! I would not recommend this product. Complete waste of money.

Got membership to the gym, started eating better, and have been adding Bowtrol to the diet...After 3 days, I took a massive dump like no other, felt extra sticky, like caked on sludge....I the stuff helps clean out the large intestines and colen...I am not asscoiated with this company..4+ stars!.

Curiouser an curiouser...the product arrived on time, no problems, however, the effectiveness of the product was significantly reduced. The bottles were sealed and the pills looked the same, but the effectiveness...not the same, and I'm not sure what to think. I have taken BOWTROL for several years. 1-2 per night, and they have been great. Is it the product, or is my body's reaction to the product changing? Without scientific testing on the product, I can't prove anything, but I have a feeling the quality control is NOT what it should be...if there is any quality control. These new bottles require double the dosage+, and the dosage changed for me within a 24 hour period, so I'm pretty sure the product changed, not my internals.

Did a lot of research looking for something to help with constipation and stumbled across this and it did work but I continued my research for something more cost effective and ran across pysillium from gnc which is cheaper and works just as well at the same dosage

Most often Bowtrol is very effective, reaction time can vary. Two capsule usually does the trick.

My husband and I having been using Bowtrol for years and yet we noticed that our latest supply is not working as effectively. We think that the ingredients have been altered to require a higher dosage level. If we find this to be true, we will discontinue using the product. So, is it still satisfactory? Basically, yes, but having to use more and then buy it more frequently is unacceptable to us.
