Fascinations Metal Earth Doctor Who Rusty K-9 3D Metal Model Kit

This is a fantastic model. You definitely need some patience and dexterity to accomplish a nice K9 - but I’ve only put together two models prior to this one. It was the most difficult - especially due to the small pieces - but patience and concentration payed off - I LOVE the final product!! This is perfect for people that love to build models - but I wouldn’t start with this one if you’re a beginner. Try a few before this one, but once you’re confident ... the end result is worth it!

I little more difficult/challenging than what I would classify as a "beginner" but over all was not bad and other than a few frustrating moments was enjoyable. I have had lots of experience doing these as this is my 5th and have one more waiting to do and plan to purchase more. I do love that it had some extra pieces (esp as these extras would have come in handy had u not found the pieces that flew when trying to attach lol)

Great fun to put together. Smaller than I expected and a magnifying glass is helpful when building it.

The pictures make it look like the tabs are sturdy and easy to insert. They are not. They are flimsy and not easy to get into the slots at all! I bought this for my Doctor Who obsessed 15 year with stellar fine motor skills and they couldn't do it. As an adult with great fine motor skills and attention to detail, I could not do it either. I hope I can get my money back even though we already opened it. It was not a good purchase.

pretty easy to assemble just takes a little patience. The only problem would be the little reciever dish on K9 face broke off easily. So that part is delicate. A small drop of crazy glue stuck it on but it the same. All in all, it was fun for my first one.

Adorable 'rusty' K-9 from Doctor Who. Enjoyed taking my time and bending/building this metal model. It pays to get a set of jewelry tools of tweezers etc to bend and form the metal.

I love this model. Was not hard to put together, has good instructions, and looks great. I have done the original silver version and this rusty version and I have to say the rusty coloring and extra colorful collar make this amazing.

So I am not a model builder. The pieces on this model have to be bent and shaped and tabbed in with tabs bent. The giant tool n picture are tweezers ordinary sized. That little thing next to it is k9’s front handle. After you shape it, if you can, good luck getting it in without crushing it and mis aligning the holes and tabs- I had it on but crooked and twisting the tabs bent the panel. I think this should be done by a serious model lover with great eyesight (I am wearing reading glasses to see it better) who owns tiny tools (my manicure tweezers were too pig for some of the work). So the tail did not work out and falls off. And a hinge on the head broke so I had to put the head together before attaching so that comes off too- again I am not a model enthusiast but after a couple of try’s and a lot of swearing it’s together. Slightly crushed in front with a loose head and tail ( guess I will just glue those!! And thanks for the extra nose!!)

Maquette très sympa, parfaite pour débuter chez metal earth car très simple. Prévoir pince à épiler, petite pince à nez long, et coupe ongle/pince coupante à ras très fine pour détacher les pièces. De plus, je conseille un tapis de souris et des objets coniques/cylindriques pour arrondir les quelques pièces, cela permet d'avoir une belle courbe facilement. Prévoir éventuellement de la colle cyanoacrylate aucazou des éléments cassent ou bougent un peu trop car pas assez serrées. Attention à celleux qui achètent ces maquettes pour des enfants, cela demande tout de même de la précision et de la patience ! A la fin, le rendu est top, l'objet est détaillé et la petite maquette en métal est très agréable à regarder et ne prend pas de place ! Qui n'a jamais rêvé d'avoir son petit K9 miniature ? :O

Are you being serious Amazon? Nowhere does this says it's a bit of flimsy cardboard with a sheet of peel off decals. What an utter rip-off! The pictures on the product listing are ALL of a metal model, which is not what you actually get. I'm furious! This would be too expensive if it cost even 99p. One for the returns dept.
