Mine arrived scratched up. Not sure how since these are so well packed. These come excellently packaged and would make a GREAT gift.I'm taking one star off because it arrived scratched and I'm taking another star off because the description specifically states the finish won't smudge. I have been carrying this around for two days and it definitely smudges and shows fingerprints.I don't mind the smudges or the scratches. It's a wallet. It's going to get beat to heck anyway. I expect it to get scratched and it's stainless steel - I definitley expect it to smudge. After two days, I have triple the amount of scratches it came with. I am dinging the review because it arrived scratched and because of the misleading information regarding smudging.Now...on to the case. It's a great case and I really do like it alot. It looks good and it works good. I have never been a fan of wallets, and the leather wallet I carried was the slimmest and smallest wallet I could find. It held my ID, my debit card, and my medical card. So for me, this case is ideal since I prefer to travel light anyway. Comfortably, I have 6 items plus two $20 bills inside the s/s case. I haven't stuffed it to capacity as I don't want to stress the hinge, but this opens and closes very easily.I did do the drop test on it and if it falls flat, it stays shut. If it lands on a corner or an end, it pops open. I don't normally drop my wallet, so I don't really care, but I wanted to report that in case it's important to others. That being said, it DOES hold my stuff in there pretty tight. The sleeves are the exact width of my license and credit cards so they are snug. None of my stuff came out on any of the drop tests.The latching mechanism seems sturdy and the design is very simplistic so I don't see it failing anytime soon. The corners are all very rounded. I don't see this being a problem in my pocket although I definitely wouldn't sit with it in my pocket. But I didn't sit with my old wallet in my pocket either.If I lose this or it gets stolen, I would probably try a different one just to mix it up. But if I was purchasing this as a gift for someone, I would definitely buy this one.

Bought 2 of these cases for our travels since one of our credit cards has been compromised 3 times in the past couple of years. Very frustrating! Don't want to go through that again if I can help it, so I bought the best case (in my opinion) on the market. No problems this time on vacation! My husband was less enthusiastic, he was used to his trusty old leather wallet and didn't really want to switch to a hard case. However, after comparing these stainless steel cases to aluminum ones with pretty colors, he quickly changed his mind and agrees with me now about the exceptional quality of these stainless steel cases. He really should have known better after 30 years of marriage! :)Stainless steel will pick up some smudges from handling, can't avoid that, but they are easily wiped away. The only drawback I have found are the corners. If you are one of the folks who simply sticks the case in a pocket, especially in slacks, those corners can leave marks in the fabric over time. I've seen in other reviews that people have issues with trying to fit 2 cards or a card and currency in one slot but that's not really what the cases are designed to do; though just fitting in a couple of folded bills with a credit card should not be problem. However, overstuffing the cases would not be what I'd recommend, you would run into trouble either closing or opening the case. Instead, buy two cases and put currency and maybe another set of credit/debit or other cards into one of those cases. Both of the cases together would still be smaller than most billfolds or wallets! Not to mention more secure! I have severe doubts about some of those RFID leather wallets or metal ones not made of stainless steel since the better the metal the better the protection!Since Steel Smart has now added more cases to these original ones, a few colors and - thank goodness - a case with rounded corners, I have purchased a number of additional cases in my possession, most, but not all, as Christmas stocking stuffers for my immediate family! I truly believe in these products!!And last but not least - MZJC has fantastic Customer Service!!! VERY helpful, friendly, service oriented, and committed to their customer base. They back their products and actually listen to the consumers! I don't think you can do much better than they are doing!
