Fun and non-toxic but makes a mess
It can be fun learning about periodic elements with hands on especially with material that has unique properties to them. Gallium is a non-toxic metal that melts at 82 degrees F and can be used to cast small objects. Being a metal it will mark surfaces with a blackish-grey film that also covers your hands. Not harmful just messy but wipes up with a paper towel and a little cleaner product. FYI: Would not recommend using or playing with this on a porous surface like wood furniture. That blackish-grey film gets into the pores and can't be cleaned out easily. Hard smooth surfaces are best.

The metal is Gallium. It is really interesting stuff and fun to experiment with from chemistry to good practice in jewelry making without the hassle of using molten hot precious metals. I’m not suggesting it will make usable jewelry, but if new to casting metal, this is lots easier/safer to work with until you develop some comfort with liquid metal handling. Excellent customer service as well.

Really cool metal! Easy cleanup
My 8yo LOVED this for Christmas. It was a lot of fun for him to melt the metal and reshape it with the molds. There was a hair dryer involved too. I will warn you: this is messy. It gets gray residue all over your hands. He had handprints all over the place, but easily cleaned up with a Clorox wipe. If it drips anywhere, it dries quickly and comes right off of flooring or the table. Lots of fun to toy with.

Science project success!
Our 13 y/o did a science project on gallium and asked me to buy some real gallium for his presentation since no one had ever done so. Im so glad I did! He was amazed and his teacher loved it! Just know, it can get messy if they aren’t careful 😅 I’d buy it again though, even though it’s not much, it was worth it, IMO

Lost some of my keys worked good and burnt through an old lock of mine. Just need to scratch the surface deep enough.
