Could do with a soft cover
It would be better with a rubber or plastic cover to prevent the metal foot resting directly on the paintwork when hooked on.

VERY DANGEROUS
Bought it as a handy accessory , tried if yesterday as step to reach vehicle roof stood up and device snapped at the hinge and I fell to the ground . By straining my wrist I landed balanced on my feet otherwise I would have broken bones . I do not weigh 400lbs and I stepped not jumped on the device . I examined the break and there was no sign of defect , the design is just up to standard . DO NOTBUY !!!

AVOID, FAILING USELESS PART
Item felt good to begin with, and made life easier to get the bikes and roof box up on my Honda CR-V, until of course it snapped. I know I’m a little on the heavy side but I fall within the weight restrictions for this and this still snapped, causing me to fall and injure myself, not happy at all! Don’t buy this, it’ll just do the same, especially after a bacon butty and a doughnut!!!
