It slowed down my puppy
My Springer puppy was eating too fast, causing some digestive distress (never much fun). I looked at a number of these feed bowls and chose this one.It works nicely, more than doubling the time it takes her to eat her dinner. The bowl itself is lightweight, so can slide around on hard surfaces, there is no rubber bottom to stop sliding. However, this has an extra benefit that gets my dog to work out how to get the food out.She hasn't worked out how to tip it over, and it seems quite planted.Bowl itself feels sturdy. It is pretty straightforward to clean with hot soapy water, but the only drawback I've found is that you have to dry it completely vertically, otherwise you can get water pooling. It's not a deal breaker though. In summary, good quality bowl that feels like it will last at a good price. Just be mindful when drying. Effectively slows down my dog, so very happy with my purchase.

Superb feeding solution that has LITERALLY stopped my dog from choking every day!
I have had my spaniel for 6 months and, in that time, he has changed from a scared puppy who wouldn't eat anything without spitting it onto the floor to examine it, into an excited junior dog who wolfs his food down so fast that it sticks in his throat making him stand gasping frantically for air - it was getting scary as I had to literally shake his tummy to help him swallow. I previously bought a ceramic bowl with wide base and narrow opening but that had no effect so I decided to get a 'slow-feed' bowl to prevent his scoop-and-swallow feeding style. I wasn't too sure about them and looked at LOTS before eventually choosing this 'Simply Natural - Winner 2020' bowl as it is made from good quality, non-toxic materials and has a simple design to allow feeding without making it so difficult as to confuse things. I couldn't have chosen a better slow-feed bowl; as already said, I didn't want it to put him off his food by confusing or exasperating him and so this simple circular design is PERFECT! The food moves from the central ring out to the wider rings via the little inlets - the bigger the hurry to eat, the faster the food spreads itself out. I simply tip his kibbles into the centre ring and then place the whole thing on top of his old ceramic bowl to give it some additional weight and grip. My dog now gets even more excited about dinnertime as it has an added fun & games element and his meal now lasts for 3-4 minutes instead of 30 seconds... He absolutely loves picking his food out in a more paced and timely manner and then circles round and round checking for any stray kibbles that he might have missed! *Initially he used his paw to try and move the bowl but he quickly became used to it and is now quite skilled at eating from it without any of the previous dramas that caused him to get food blocked in his throat. I cannot recommend this great bowl highly enough. I suggest placing it on non slip surface or, as I do, sit it on a heavy bowl so that it doesn't slide about (though this is the same for all bowls of this type that I looked at and you can purchase little non-slip rubber mats for it if necessary).

Slowed my dogs eating down.
Good quality bowl, holds enough food for my small dog. She seemed to find it easy to eat without eating fast which she was doing. She seemed to be engaged while eating so I’d say she was pretty entertained. Nice colour and very easy to clean, downside it didn’t stick to the floor well so it slid around.

Really slows down fast eaters and gulpers
This bowl really works. If you have a dog who is a competitive eater/gulper - this will definitely slow them down. However, at first my dog was really annoyed at the bowl. It took her a couple of weeks to get used to it and now she does eat slower. My husband does the am feeding and doesn't use the bowl but says she has definitely slowed down using her 'normal' bowl. However, I always use the Slow Feeder Bowl for the pm feeding and I am convinced that this helps her stop gobbling.

Not the best quality for the price.
Upon arrival this bowl didn’t live up to the expectations, I wouldn’t describe it as a large bowl, it’s more of a medium sized bowl, it feels cheap and flimsy and certainly doesn’t reflect the price tag, it’s awesome for a dog to play chase the food across the kitchen floor due to the lack of anti slip on the bottom, if it wasn’t for the fact it’s the perfect size for our smaller dog I would have returned it, it’s absolutely no use to our larger dog who it was actually purchased for.Falsely advertised and described in my opinion.

It works
This works: it slows down my voracious lurcher who usually clears her dish in seconds. Easy to clean too.

Slides about like ice on ice.
Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this item, if you want a laugh, read the part on the box that says, None Slip- to stay in place, then try it on your kitchen floor, I had to dry my eyes from laughing, put it back in the box and returned it.

Simple and robust - does the job well!
We adopted a new rescue puppy and he was eating his food way too quickly (had been a stray so probably used to have to eat fast or not eat at all, bless him). After a bit of research we decided to get him a slow feed bowl. Our pup is quite intelligent, so we were worried that effectively putting obstacles in his food bowl would frustrate him. However, it's done the opposite, he seems to really enjoy eating from it as it has turned dinnertime into a fun game. He loves finding little bits of food around all of the grooves. From a normal dog bowl he used to eat his whole meal in under 30 seconds, but this has extended it to more like 3-5mins.I tend to mix his food in a normal dog bowl and then transfer it into this bowl, and I find that pressing the food down into the grooves with my fingers or the back of a spoon makes the dog feed even slower as they have to loosen the food as they eat, which makes the game even more fun for them.We tend to chuck ours in the dishwasher; and it comes out nice and clean. Just be careful to load it into the dishwasher vertically otherwise the underside (the backs of all the ridges) will fill up with water.
